Hi,

I love the gilmore girls and have been hunting the internet but can't seem to find a decent list of some of the many references that are made to literature in the show.

I know there's loads though and i'm really interested to hear them if you can think of any!

Thanks

2542491 Hi!
Hmm.. I don't have a detailed list, but I have noted some of the books they're talking about in the series ;-)

H.L Mencken - A Chrestomathy (He's truly a fantastic writer, with some very entertaining and interesting points of view)
Swann's Way - Marcel Proust (It's supposedly very good) and The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand

(If you can't find a list, you can always watch the series again and make one) ;-)
Good luck with your further search :-)

// Kate

2808717 Some of the references I remember are: Madame Bovary, Moby Dick, Howl, Ayn Rand, Hemingway, Proust, Gore Vidal, Dorothy Parker, Edgar Allan Poe, Sylvia Plath, Norman Mailer, Garcia Marquez, The Iliad. And this is nothing compared to what I found here:

336421 Check the shelves of this group -- directly based on the book lists from the series -- plus a few additional titles. And in back posts there are links galore to all sorts of Rory book lists though the one above is a good one -- improved since it first appeared.

83144 Does the link even still work? I keep getting an error when I try it.

1058138 It still worked yesterday. Maybe it's just down temporarily?

83144 Crazy. Yeah, it works again today. That was bizarre.

446509 Wow, that's really neat! There's SO many:D Very cool to have so many books referenced on a tv show :)
Sadly, I've only read 8 of them (unless you count the entire HP series;>)
