1526945 If the topic is in a group where you've selected to get email updates, you subscribe to a topic just by following the link or leaving a comment. Once I've ignored/just deleted an email about a topic I usually stop getting more.

1526945 Just unsubscribe to the topic. Underneath the comment box, under where it says Add to my Update Feed, it also says Email me when people reply. Hit the little green "edit" and turn off replies.
