Lorna we must find a way to educate our children that this is NOT the case !

we have made the same mistake in religion -

we teach them NOT to be spiritual - so they may be accepted in our circle of closed minds !

I am an admirer of Doris Lessing, but following the trial of Casey Anthony, accused of murdering her kid to live the good life, I kept thinking about Lessing's wonderful short story "Room 19". The image of motherhood as a burden in the story was thrilling once, but in the light of the trial I started to see a morbid educational aspect to it. What would happen if mothers took Lessing's insight to the extreme? Is there a Casey at the end of the road?
