Sarah (ReelMamaMonkey) | 309 comments I will be starting this book this month, but not immediately on the first. It is the first in a two part series. It is followed by Black House.

Both my husband and his friend Jim have bugged me about reading it and finally I have worked it into my schedule. I am trying to promise myself to read one King book a month, but this month it'll be two. Black House is for December.

Sarah (ReelMamaMonkey) | 309 comments YES!!! YES!!! Finally I started this book. Already I'm intrigued by the writing style. I haven't read an older King book in a while and even though it is written with someone else, it is obviously King. The writing style is so different. Ala The Stand or even some of the Dark Tower Books. It is a big heavy and 10xs more graphic and grotesque in its descriptions than Lisey's Story, Duma Key, Cell or any of the short stories from Just After Sunset. What I love about King is that there's a point (even before his accident) where you can see his writing changing. Sort of coming out of a youthful rebellion against standards and fine-tuning his craft to still embody the voice of his style, but make it much more palpable to more readers.
