I know I am late to the party but library couldn't get me the book until like the 25th so I just finished it last week since I was immersed in another book at the time...Anyway I agree, I was completely taken back at Jabril's betrayal. The book did start a little slow but the end made up for it, I would definitely pick up the next one. I am SO curious to find out more about Danaus.
I've been meaning to start this series for a while and was happy to see it chosen as a group read. It was a little slow in the beginning, but it really grabbed me in the middle and kept my attention all the way to the end. Danaus is one hot guy (or whatever he is). Should be interesting to see if he and Mira hook up in the future!
I'm waiting for the Danaus and Mira hookup. The two hate each other, or what they are, but they are so going to go nuts in the sack. You just wait.
Love this book, The characters especially Mira a strong but vulnerable Vampire. Loved Danaus from the begining.Jabril struck me as being pompous and controlling from the start.
Yeah it was a very bitter pill for me to sallow the last chapter really brought tears too my eyes almost as if the betrayal was done to me. I connected really well with Mira from about the middle of the book and from there she never let me go
I liked the fact that Jabril was a sort of protector for Mira in the beginning when she needed him, but I didn't like when he turned out to have betrayed her. He was using her the entire time, and she never had a clue.It kinda soured him for me a bit.
For some reason Danaus's story didn't grab me like that of Jabril. I really wanted him to be the good guy
I haven't read the third novel Dawnbreaker yet, but I want to say Drake mentioned that Danaus's past comes into play either in the third or fourth novels.
I want to find out exactly what Danaus's story is. I'm curious to find out exactly what he is too. Overall, I thought it started off a little slow, but it got better towards the middle and I loved the ending. I wasn't expecting that she was going to turn out to be a weapon for anybody with enough power to control her, and I was sad when her guard(Micheal it think his name was) died.
I tried this series and just could not get into it. I'm curious to see what others have to say about it.
