1457164 Thanks Roni :]

message 58: by Roni, I'll soon get to know Richard better than I probably want to (new)

632202 But just so you guys know, we won't close this group. And I'm guessing that you guys aren't going to completely desert it either.

message 57: by Kenzie, My NaNo story died. I'm going to attempt Reawakened Soul again. (new)

627841 You can always re-decorate your new area just like your old one. I'm sure Tink would be happy to help spread her fairy dust and transform cubicles. :D

message 56: by Marisol (new)

1818001 It's just a discussion... you do have a whole lot of posts, I'm sure you'll get them again....

oh. yeah. I have typos a lot : D

message 55: by Teresa (new)

2298148 A key on your keyboard might have stuck, Marisol.

I like my cubical too, and for much the same reasons as Dee likes hers, but I have no idea how to move stuff. If I ask for help when the time comes someone may be able to help me.

message 54: by Wendy (new)

1139740 Cyber, Marisol. It's nice having a spot of our own. I think Dee is reluctant to have to change her cubi to a new spot since she's comfy where she is.

message 53: by Marisol (new)

1818001 are you talkign about a real or cyber one?

message 52: by Dee, Fan of the "Young Prose Society" (new)

1457164 Geez, with so many things changing in the world. It's rather comfy to know that I can always come home to my cubi, and that everything will be the way it was when I left.

I know that change is good, and after awhile, things do get messy and chaotic if they stay the same. But, I rather strive on chaos and Familiar surroundings. It is like coming home to your parents' house after you have grownup and moved out. :]

message 51: by Wendy (new)

1139740 I like my farmland too. I just snuggled in for the winter.

message 50: by Marisol (new)

1818001 sorry. What was that?

message 49: by Marisol (new)

1818001 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

message 48: by Dee, Fan of the "Young Prose Society" (new)

1457164 Oh, and of course Edward standing in the corner :]

message 47: by Dee, Fan of the "Young Prose Society" (new)

1457164 Nope...I like my cubi because of how Tink decorated it, and all the wonderful memories I have when I turn on the lights :]

message 46: by Marisol (new)

1818001 thats cause you have thousands of posts : D but dont worry I'm sure you can get more.

message 45: by Dee, Fan of the "Young Prose Society" (new)

1457164 I rather like my cubi...

message 44: by Annie (new)

2592123 Totally Agree Kenzie

message 43: by Marisol (new)

1818001 That sounds like a good idea.

Oh, and at the risk of spamming- I started a new group focused on saving cardboard characters. It's called WACC- Writers Against Cardboard Characters. You should check it out.

message 42: by Snowsong (new)

1022413 That sounds like a good idea to me, but I'm just one voice among many ^^

message 41: by Kenzie, My NaNo story died. I'm going to attempt Reawakened Soul again. (new)

627841 How's about a compromise? Say ... a month or so of the old group being open, allowing people time to transfer things, and then we freeze this group and post a link for anyone wanting to reminisce? We can even add in a topic where people can discuss old stuff if they wish.

message 40: by Annie (new)

2592123 Personally, I don't want to keep my little "cubi" so you could delete it New Years Day if you wanted to. I want a fresh start.

message 39: by Marisol (new)

1818001 True. Give it say until the end of January before shutting down this group.

message 38: by Marisol (new)

1818001 True. Give it say until the end of January before shutting down this group.

message 37: by Wendy (new)

1139740 I don't think it would be good to keep both open indefinitly. If you want to change over, then fine, do it but have a deadline where people know that this group becomes closed to new discussions on such-and-such a date. Otherwise we'll have twice as many threads to follow and it will be more confusing, not less.

message 36: by Snowsong (new)

1022413 I prefer the idea of starting fresh with the new year, and keeping this group around. With maybe a link from the new group to here. *shrugs*

message 35: by Wendy (new)

1139740 I like Renee's idea. Keep the same group, but close last years out and put it all into a "closed discussions" spot so that anyone active would have to start a new thread under the new name.

Of course, whatever you lovely Mods decide will be great, I'm sure. You've done a spectacular job thus far.

message 34: by Marisol (new)

1818001 Yeah but I have trouble getting through the topics. It's going to take a lot of work to move the discussions around- why not just create a new group and leave this one open?

message 33: by Teresa (new)

2298148 I'd have to agree with Renee. Move what can be moved to the archives for referenses, and change the name of the group! The craziness comes with the participants, which is a good thing in my opinion!

message 32: by Marisol (new)

1818001 Why not just close discussions in this group but leave them for people to go through?

It's just that there are so many discussions and craziness and It's getting really disorganized. It's a new year, and a fresh start.

message 31: by Renee (new)

2012116 So, just to be clear, members who've been in the group for a year, posting daily and tracking word counts will have to join another group and begin again? Why not just change the name and put the 2009 threads in an archive for closed discussions? They can't be posted on anymore, but they're there for others to read.

message 30: by Marisol (new)

1818001 true, true ; ) a bunch of poeple might keep just using this one though.

message 29: by Roni, I'll soon get to know Richard better than I probably want to (new)

632202 Yeppers. That's what the "send this message to the entire group" thing is for. :)

message 28: by Marisol (new)

1818001 yeah. You should make it clera that they should go to the new group, though.

message 27: by Roni, I'll soon get to know Richard better than I probably want to (new)

632202 My thoughts exactly. :) Even with the topics for the members who have left/don't visit the group anymore.

message 26: by Marisol (new)

1818001 that sounds good.

message 25: by Annie (new)

2592123 yep!

message 24: by Kenzie, My NaNo story died. I'm going to attempt Reawakened Soul again. (last edited 8 days ago, 08:56AM) (new)

627841 That sounds like a good idea, Annie. We don't have to delete this group right away. That way people will have enough time to move the things they want, and reminisce over things before they're gone.

The main reason for creating a whole new group is so that we'll be organized. This group has gotten a little messy during the year, and if we start a new one we'll be fresh and clean. And we can set the rules from the beginning that we know do and don't work so that there's less confusion for the new members. Plus, then we won't have to worry about deleting the topics of the members who leave because they won't have joined the new group.

message 23: by Annie (new)

2592123 If we start fresh, then that'd be fine. That way it's new, and clean, and organized.

But I also think that she should keep Write in 2009 up for maybe 1-2 months after to party. We wrote through all of 2009!

message 22: by Marisol (new)

1818001 Yeah. That makes sense.

message 21: by Roni, I'll soon get to know Richard better than I probably want to (new)

632202 Marisol wrote: "I think you should leave this group open but start a new one because it's a new year, and a fresh start and all that. Plus I could get a handle on what was going on without having to read through t..."

Yes, I was thinking this might work. Plus the mods could get a handle on organization before everybody joins. And if it utterly fails, then we can always come back to this group. But we've got a little over a month before the new year, so we have time to figure stuff out.

message 20: by Marisol (new)

1818001 You don't need to transfer it all over. You start again. It's a new year...

message 19: by Sella (new)

909992 Marisol wrote: "They will transfer over. Just send out an message to all members. "

But why? We have so many amazing discussions here, it will take forever to set them all up again. And most people still won't transfer, even if we send messages.

What's wrong with simply changing the name of this group to 'Write in 2010'?

message 18: by Marisol (new)

1818001 They will transfer over. Just send out an message to all members.

message 17: by Sella (new)

909992 No no no! Please don't make a new group. Why can't you just change the name? People here won't transfer over and stuff ... aw man. Darn it.

message 16: by Marisol (new)

1818001 I think you should leave this group open but start a new one because it's a new year, and a fresh start and all that. Plus I could get a handle on what was going on without having to read through thousands of posts.

message 15: by Michelle (new)

1013780 i think that it would be better to just keep the same group, b/c we'd be switching groups every year, and what if there are things in the topics here that we want to look back on and remember, or for reference, or something? that would be a lot of transferring besides

message 14: by Marisol (new)

1818001 Yes. You should start fresh.

message 13: by Roni, I'll soon get to know Richard better than I probably want to (new)

632202 No, I don't think so. Probably, the name of the group will just change. I thought about this when I first made the group. You see, we don't want to cut people off who did not start on January 1st.

Although it might be almost better to create a new group and start fresh, with new topics and everything. Of course, people in the middle of their challenges could either start anew or transfer things to the new group (with help from the mods, if needed)... hmmm. Maybe we should put it to a poll?

message 12: by Kenzie, My NaNo story died. I'm going to attempt Reawakened Soul again. (new)

627841 I dunno. We haven't really talked about it yet. I don't think we will, though.

message 11: by Annie (new)

2592123 End it? Kenzie are you nuts?!

message 10: by Marisol (new)

1818001 if you end this one you need to create a new one for 2010. let everyone start over and stuffz.
