BTW, I just told Endre (partner) that this is what I want for Christmas.
Last Night in Twisted River is my next-on-deck....
It will be the first Irving I read so I am excited!

I read the book in November. Here is a LINK to my review. I truly love the man (well his writing anyway) so was very eager to get my hands on this novel. Please see the link as I don't want to give anything away in the thread. My review doesn't contain spoilers, per se, but I did put a few quotes in it.
I would love to hear from others who have read the novel and learn your thoughts on the story.

Talk about depressing!! I got an email from The Writers Guild in LA and he is going to be here on Monday night...by the time I went to sign up it was SOLD OUT!!! Should I wait in the alley and jump him??? UGH, I am so disappointed.
Our theaters here in Toronto, Canada are simulcasting his interview with the NY Times - it's an hour and a half long. I went to the show last night - excellent.
He actually read from Last Night in Twisted River, answered questions from the journalist and took audience questions. Very, very interesting. Sadly, there were only 4 people (myself included) at the movie.
I am not going to go tonight because I am not feeling well but hopefully I am better and I can go uptown tomorrow
John Irving was at the NAtional Book Festival this year in DC. He was such a pleasure to listen to so if you enjoy his books, definitely go see him.
Awww man! I was planning on seeing A.S. Byatt at the Strand tomorrow night @ 8pm. Too many authors, too little time!
Unfortunately he's not coming to Pittsburgh yet, but thanks for posting about this, Donna. I didn't know he had a new book coming out. I haven't read all of his, but what I have read I have liked.
