Outside my genreF/F romance:
First Taste Naughty Nooners by Paisley Smith fin.11-29-09
Hey...got one in =D!
That makes what 4....I have to say that I got stuck on a very long contemporary romance and never even started either of them. I kept hoping to, but I didn't! Sorry.
arg, I'm gonna have to bow out of this one as well. I haven't even started one, and the other one was to boring to continue.:c

Not looking good! I have not had a change to start either one.
I signed up for this one but I have to back out. Yeah I know there's only a week left but I have so many books I need to read for other challenges that reading something out of my comfort zone just isn't going to happen. :(
PNR & UF Group November Challenge:
2/2
1 - Read a book from a genre you don't normally read to expand your horizons. (I like cozy mysteries but I've never read stuff by the old classic masters like Agatha Christie or Ellery Queen.)
2 - Read a book that was made into a movie OR television show.
Ok read one I don't usually read so going to try the challenge. The challenges for November are:

finished 11/27/2009
Aww, well don't feel bad Sarah I have been out of the running these last couple months. Too many things keep popping up giving me less and less time to read.
I never have found my copy of Blood Price, so I'm officially out of the running this month.
Who knew books could hide?
I have gotten so many swap requests this month I haven't even started this month's challenge. I love yall's picks btw.
#2 Movie/TV Show: DONEI read Storm Front which was the TV Show The Dresden Files (and was actually good, no idea what happened to it)

So YEAH I finally finished a Challenge - LOL

challenge finished 11/13
Grrr... I may have to bow out of the November challenge. I've rearranged my TBR book stacks, and now I can't find my copy of Blood Price (for the movie challenge)!
Let that be a lesson: organization is not all it's cracked up to be.
*huffs* Maybe I can still find it...
Nice Jennifer :DI have not started yet on my monthly reading /sigh
Plus I go out of town toward the end of the month to visit family for Thanksgiving.. though I will probably take a book or two with me just in case I get time :D
Ok, I think I have finally figured out what I want to go with for:1 - new genre - non-fiction/memoir
Eat, Pray, Love One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia
2 - book to movie - made for TV movie
Tribute

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies isn't by the same author, but it did get some rave reviews.
Oh I think I will use this as an "excuse" to read Twilight - i have been considering reading it for a while now and this will be the perfect "excuse" to do so, LOLAs for a new genre of book, I may also try the Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters & Jane Austen but have to say if it is to "Jane Austen" I will be abandoning it, I have tried a number of times to read her and just can't get into her style of writing.
I think I can do this one.
1. New Genre - literature?
The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing by Melissa Bank
2. book to movie
Not Forgotten by Nancy Holder (Angel TV show)
Also please feel free to suggest challenge themes in our suggestion thread! We could use more to choose from in the upcoming months :)
Hmm ya that would work Debbie. Let me add that to the list.. else we might have too hard of a challenge right?
Does made for TV movies count, I am thinking of all the Nora Roberts movies that came out over the summer?Otherwise I will have to think on it some more.
Yeah the movie one for me am not sure about.Twilight would have done it good but I already read that! lol
So I am still searching.
I'm going to attempt this, but no promises. It'll all depend on if I can get caught up with my reviews.Book to Movie: Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist
Outside my usual genre: Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters & Jane Austen - while this sounds like something my site would cover, I've never read an Austen novel, and really have no desire to, but this one sort of amuses me.

Am not sure I will get to the movie one, but I am going to choose my books and hope that I can get to them hehe.Movie:Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
Outside my usual genre: Soul Mates Bound by Blood - Ok this one was a book I put aside because I couldnt get into it at first.. as its a genre I am not really used to and is not a normal read for me.
So in light of this months challenge I am picking it back up and reading it for the challenge.

Movie: Hogfather by Terry Pratchett
Outside genre: Merle's Door Lessons from a Freethinking Dog by Ted Kerasote
Thanks, I'm using this challenge as an <arm twisting, please don't throw me into the briar patch ...> "excuse" to check out the erotic PNR. hehe >:)
Count me in :)2/2
New Genre - Erotic Romance:
Book 2 Movie:

Challenge Completed @ 11/14/09
Movie-My Sister's Keeper v Jodi Picoult Outside my genre-Shout down the Moon v Lisa Tucker OR Perfect Match v Jodi Picoult
Good choices!
Every month we will have a dual-themed challenge, and the minimum goal is to read 2 books (one from each theme). For more voracious readers, you can read more. The challenges for November are:
1 - Read a book from a genre you don't normally read to expand your horizons.
2 - Read a book that was made into a movie OR television show.
To sign up, just simply pick your books and post it. Again, you can read only 2, 4, 6, etc, depending on your interest, time, book availability and reading speed.
Remember, this doesn't start until November, I am just posting early so people can get their books in time. Feel free to post your lists though!
Have fun reading!
