I have to say that I got stuck on a very long contemporary romance and never even started either of them. I kept hoping to, but I didn't! Sorry.

1968285 I signed up for this one but I have to back out. Yeah I know there's only a week left but I have so many books I need to read for other challenges that reading something out of my comfort zone just isn't going to happen. :(

Too many things keep popping up giving me less and less time to read.

I've heard it's Austens' story, but Winters more or less rewrites it. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies isn't by the same author, but it did get some rave reviews.

2624137 Oh I think I will use this as an "excuse" to read Twilight - i have been considering reading it for a while now and this will be the perfect "excuse" to do so, LOL

As for a new genre of book, I may also try the Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters & Jane Austen but have to say if it is to "Jane Austen" I will be abandoning it, I have tried a number of times to read her and just can't get into her style of writing.

1968285 I think I can do this one.

1. New Genre - literature?

message 13: by ♥Tricia♥, Group Lead (new)

1869154 Also please feel free to suggest challenge themes in our suggestion thread! We could use more to choose from in the upcoming months :)

message 12: by ♥Tricia♥, Group Lead (new)

1869154 Hmm ya that would work Debbie. Let me add that to the list.. else we might have too hard of a challenge right?

message 11: by Debbie (new)

2474586 Does made for TV movies count, I am thinking of all the Nora Roberts movies that came out over the summer?

Otherwise I will have to think on it some more.

message 10: by ♥Tricia♥, Group Lead (new)

1869154 Yeah the movie one for me am not sure about.

Twilight would have done it good but I already read that! lol

So I am still searching.

message 9: by Jackie (last edited 30 days ago, 03:35PM) (new)

2657123 I'm going to attempt this, but no promises. It'll all depend on if I can get caught up with my reviews.

Book to Movie: Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist
Outside my usual genre: Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters & Jane Austen - while this sounds like something my site would cover, I've never read an Austen novel, and really have no desire to, but this one sort of amuses me.

1869154 Am not sure I will get to the movie one, but I am going to choose my books and hope that I can get to them hehe.

Movie:Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris

Outside my usual genre: Soul Mates Bound by Blood - Ok this one was a book I put aside because I couldnt get into it at first.. as its a genre I am not really used to and is not a normal read for me.
So in light of this months challenge I am picking it back up and reading it for the challenge.

1869154 Every month we will have a dual-themed challenge, and the minimum goal is to read 2 books (one from each theme). For more voracious readers, you can read more.

The challenges for November are:

1 - Read a book from a genre you don't normally read to expand your horizons.

2 - Read a book that was made into a movie OR television show.

To sign up, just simply pick your books and post it. Again, you can read only 2, 4, 6, etc, depending on your interest, time, book availability and reading speed.

Remember, this doesn't start until November, I am just posting early so people can get their books in time. Feel free to post your lists though!

Have fun reading!
