Photojim wrote: "Julie, that is the only way I can go. How can people know what they are going to read next month is beyond me. I have a hard enough time knowing what I'll read tonight."I know what you mean, Photojim. I usually read by my mood. Most months I do make a list offline, but I may have 5-10 choices for each category to give me lots of leeway. The last couple of months I've been more focused, but only because I'm trying to finish up four other challenges and need everything to fit.;-)
Julie (Mom2lnb) wrote: "Photojim wrote: "Julie, that is the only way I can go. How can people know what they are going to read next month is beyond me. I have a hard enough time knowing what I'll read tonight."I kno..."
I'm with you Photojim and Julie (Mom21nb), I am an 'impulse' reader. I do have a round-about idea of books that could fit the categories but still don't like 'planning' my reading too far in advance. I usually try to figure out what I'm gonna read next about 1\2 way through my current read. Otherwise I sit and stare at my shelves, looking at one blurb after another and have so many I want to read, I CANNOT make a b..... decision. So I like to know what's next but only that one not ten or so
Tara, no it's not weird. It's sort of like a compliment, that others like your reading choices enough to give one a go.
Tara wrote: "Is it weird that I get excited when someone uses a book from my shelf?"
Nope - entirely understandable! I'll admit to looking if anyone had picked from my shelf!
Tara wrote: "Is it weird that I get excited when someone uses a book from my shelf?"That's the perk that comes with the birthday. Enjoy.
I think it's a wonderful compliment when ppl pick from each others shelves - having said that please don't EVER pick from my shelves. That's just creepy LOL And my shelves are disorganised. As someone who works for a public library I close my eyes at my touch and go 'filing' system of GoodReads bookshelves LOL
