That's too bad! Why can't your hubby put his foot down and tell his father that he's got plans? Surely he wouldn't mind?

695116 That sucks, DJ. I worked for my step father for 6 years & put up with a lot of the same stuff. I had my revenge, though. When I left, he basically went out of business. Nothing bad I did or said, I just wasn't there any more & he couldn't handle the load.

message 73: by DJ (new)

2628150 Jessica, that's a sore subject in our house just now as Husband works for his Father and once more we have on short notice had time off that Husband booked months ago cancelled as his Father wants to Golf!!
I do not mean to be grumpy at you my friend,I am grumpy at the situation......
Also who the heck plays golf in a Gale fit for Dorothy to get back to Kansas in and we are suffering Torrential Rain!!!

2542416 Jo wrote: "Lol cool. I will be reading Graceling soon. I wasn't going to get it because it was expensive but i managed to swap it so im happy. I think my boss should play golf on fridays! "

I think everyone's boss should play golf on Fridays. lol.

message 71: by Jo (new)

2457455 Lol cool. I will be reading Graceling soon. I wasn't going to get it because it was expensive but i managed to swap it so im happy. I think my boss should play golf on fridays!

2542416 Jo wrote: "Lol cool :) did you join the conversation?"

Not yet but only because I am playing catch up with Graceling. I started Graveyard book today during lunch but tonight I am starting Graceling. So, now, instead of involving in the convo, which will take a lot of time because I LOVED it, I want to catch up on my reading. I will probably jump in on Friday. That's a great catch up day for me since that's when boss is out of the office playing golf.

message 69: by Jo (new)

2457455 Wow we have a lot of series nominations now! Thanks everyone! I will keep it open a bit longer though

message 41: by Shelli (new)

1561203 I would vote for:
The Outlander Series
The Mortal Instruments
The Dresden Files....

I've read the Sookie Stackhouse series and they were fun, would be fun to discuss....

message 40: by Jim (new)

695116 I just started the first Vampire Academy book. I want to slap the copy editor, but the story is pretty good. Very interesting world. I have a feeling that the second book will be better because a lot of the first one is taken up with explaining the world.

message 39: by Karla (new)

2428829 Oh Katie I can't believe I overlooked the year for infernal devices that is a seriously long wait!!! Thanks for the website post. The Luxe series was a good one for anyone likeing historical fiction series. I have heard of so many new series on this link I have to check into. What are the dresden series about is it science fiction or paranormal?

message 38: by Amber (new)

2532241 I would have to go with Jim for
Dresden Files - Jim Butcher
Sookie Stackhouse - Charlaine Harris
Aurora Teagarden Mysteries - Charlaine Harris

Thanks!

message 37: by DJ (new)

2628150 If we can't have
THE MAYFAIR WITCHES
My second choice would be
THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES
Also by Anne Rice...

message 36: by Juliet (new)

2609076 Ummm all I can think of is the Keys to the Kingdom series, that was really good.

2426299 I definitely second (third) the motion for Anne Rice, Either the Mayfair witches or the Vampire Chronicles, I'm due for a re-read of both series!
HON series, even though they annoy the living bejeezus out of me! LOL! I have to finish what I start.
Vampire Diaries, it's waiting for me. :-)
Vampire Academy
Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices-without a DOUBT!!
Kelley Armstrong's series'-I'm eagerly awaiting the 3rd installment following the Awakening, It's called the Reckoning. I also would like to get into the Women of the Underworld series.
I am currently reading Lirael Daughter of the Clayr and it's the 2nd of a trilogy that is very good.
Sweep- I'm on the third book and I think there is like 17! They aren't long books, though so it's a quick read.

The Luxe series is really good.

Blue Bloods

ok, I can't think of any more!
