642493 I haven't really found any craft books that I absolutely love... I always walk down that aisle in the bookstores but I guess my interests are too broad to decide on a book. My far and away favorite website is craftster.org

anybody know of some other good ones?

1100684 Anyone know of any good craft books for...making cards? fashion? blogging?

2820967 Stitch 'N Bitch The Knitter's Handbook is good, and the Stitch 'n Bitch Nation is my favorite, simple and quick patterns--perfect for gift.

One Skein 30 Quick Projects to Knit and Crochet is another great book for knitting

And Denise is right, Ravelry is awesome.

1577174 Stitch 'N Bitch The Knitter's Handbook is very good. It has a lot of illustrations and detailed instructions and patterns for different levels of knitters, though some are kind of impractical, silly, or things you wouldn't ever really want in your life. I get patterns online and consult it a lot on how to do the different kinds of stitches.

2682954 I used some basic books like Donna Kooler's Encyclopedia of Knitting and some Dummies books when I taught myself to knit and crochet. Mostly I used the internet, though. It was easier for me to see something done than to read how to do it.

If you're interested in knitting, check out Ravelry. It's a fantastic site with tons of information and a huge pattern database to search from.

1524777 I've heard good things about Stitch 'N Bitch The Knitter's Handbook and really all the other Stitch 'N Bitch books. I can't say I'm very crafty so I don't know..that's just what I've heard.
