1356469 Due to a tie in themes it will be done slightly differently this month.

Category 1: Same as ever, it will be regular fiction, whatever you want.

Category 2: Paranormal and/or Dystopia

You can choose only ONE book from EITHER Category 1 or 2.

For category 2 choose between Paranormal or Dystopia or see if you can find one that combines the two.

1124284 I nominate The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness for CAT 2 (dystopic and also a bit paranormal, so hey, two birds, 1 stone)

I'm about 100 pages in and it was calling me all day at work! Very unique and intriguing!

1334924 Cat 2: Can I nominate Rebel Angels by Libba Bray-(assuming that everyone read the first one)?

1296084 I nominate East by Edith Pattou in Cat. 1! I found a good dystopia book too (I think) It's not a nomination, just a recomendation to read: The Last Book in the Universe

1291628 For Cat 2, I'd like to nominate Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve.

message 10: by Heather (new)

2553389 cat. 1 nomination: Crows and Cards by Joseph Helgerson. I read Horns and Wrinkles by him not too long ago, and I really liked his writing style, this is his most recent book I believe.

(I think Mortal Engines will probably have my vote for cat. 2. My sweetie's been trying to get me to read that for a year.)

message 19: by Fiona, Tweetacular (new)

1356469 Poll will be up soon

message 20: by Luann (new)

651844 I checked to see if there was a poll yet before I posted, so maybe I just squeaked in under the deadline? :)

message 21: by Fiona, Tweetacular (new)

1356469 Yes you did, just!

I swear things just are not working out for me today though. Doesn't help that I still think it is September when setting the poll date...

Misty, my 13 yr old son just finished the Knife of Never Letting Go yesterday and begged me for the Ask and the Answer... I have it, but was saving it to read in November after the challenge ends. He is gloating like crazy today that he is reading book two before me. Stinkin' kid. ;-)

message 28: by Fiona, Tweetacular (new)

1356469 Well Graceling by Kristin Cashore has finally won after being nominated I'm sure for many many months... as our book for category one.

and

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness for category two.

message 29: by Misty (new)

1124284 YAY TKONLG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Angela, that's hilarious. But I would have done the same thing (tell him I'm gloating over him, cause I am finished with both...)

1253494 Oh D***! i didn't see either book anywhere near me...so I guess I will just watch from the shadows again.

Maybe Laurie will peep behind the curtains haha

message 31: by Becky (new)

1376766 Oh no, the fairy's here too! Where's that doxy spray? :P

1253494 **ouch that spray hurts my eyes *looks up litigation* aaahh gahhh can't afford it! ;)

umm..What's a fairy?

message 33: by Fiona, Tweetacular (new)

1356469 I have vanquished that stupid fairy... BEGONE EVIL ONE!

*leaves*

message 34: by De 1ne St[♥]r Pr!nc:$$ N[♥]usheen (last edited Nov 01, 2009 11:44AM) (new)

1253494 the narrator says *I think fairy leaves, cos she was vanquished...but she swears by another day* followed by evil laughter*

*all's well that ends well*

*peace reigns in the wild things valley*

1296084 I'm confused now...

message 36: by Heather (new)

2098381 I loved Graceling and liked The Knife of Never Letting Go. I thought he had a brilliant concept but when the big reveal finally happened I was very disappointed and it made the events that happened throughout the book very unbelievable, even for a ficticious world, imo.

message 37: by Meghan (new)

1929140 Have I missed nominations or voting for December? I'm a lost reader! Help mods, help!

message 38: by Kristen (new)
