Due to a tie in themes it will be done slightly differently this month.
Category 1: Same as ever, it will be regular fiction, whatever you want.
Category 2: Paranormal and/or Dystopia
You can choose only ONE book from EITHER Category 1 or 2.
For category 2 choose between Paranormal or Dystopia or see if you can find one that combines the two.
I nominate The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness for CAT 2 (dystopic and also a bit paranormal, so hey, two birds, 1 stone)

I nominate East by Edith Pattou in Cat. 1! I found a good dystopia book too (I think) It's not a nomination, just a recomendation to read: The Last Book in the Universe

It hurst to put it down, doesn't it. I just finished the sequel. My god, I can't wait for #3.
cat. 1 nomination: Crows and Cards by Joseph Helgerson. I read Horns and Wrinkles by him not too long ago, and I really liked his writing style, this is his most recent book I believe. (I think Mortal Engines will probably have my vote for cat. 2. My sweetie's been trying to get me to read that for a year.)

Can we still nominate? If so, I'd like to nominate Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer for category 2 (dystopia).
I checked to see if there was a poll yet before I posted, so maybe I just squeaked in under the deadline? :)
Yes you did, just! I swear things just are not working out for me today though. Doesn't help that I still think it is September when setting the poll date...

Yeah I read parts of it. Very interesting stuff!

I have it, but was saving it to read in November after the challenge ends. He is gloating like crazy today that he is reading book two before me. Stinkin' kid. ;-)
Well Graceling by Kristin Cashore has finally won after being nominated I'm sure for many many months... as our book for category one.and
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness for category two.
YAY TKONLG!!!!!!!!!!!!!Angela, that's hilarious. But I would have done the same thing (tell him I'm gloating over him, cause I am finished with both...)
Oh D***! i didn't see either book anywhere near me...so I guess I will just watch from the shadows again.
Maybe Laurie will peep behind the curtains haha
**ouch that spray hurts my eyes *looks up litigation* aaahh gahhh can't afford it! ;)
umm..What's a fairy?
the narrator says *I think fairy leaves, cos she was vanquished...but she swears by another day* followed by evil laughter*
*all's well that ends well*
*peace reigns in the wild things valley*
I loved Graceling and liked The Knife of Never Letting Go. I thought he had a brilliant concept but when the big reveal finally happened I was very disappointed and it made the events that happened throughout the book very unbelievable, even for a ficticious world, imo.
