717257 There's a new author-sorting service available to readers, and it seems obvious to me that the more authors names in the system (that "Gnod" knows) the better the service to readers and authors alike.

http://www.gnooks.com/vote.php

So, for the benefit of all, please nominate reciprocally. The more nominations any author receives, the better.

You can nominate yourself. Respond to this topic, and I will nominate you.

Rowena Cherry (futuristic romance)

1457164 Hey Rowena,

I just voted "yes" for you and will add some of our group members as well :]

message 3: by Victoria (new)

2303781 Hi Rowena,
I voted "yes" for you too. I'd really appreciate if people voted "Yes" for me - Victoria Twead and I'll return the compliment.

Thanks,

Victoria

message 4: by Jaimey (new)

1654851 I voted for Victoria and Dee and myself (Jaimey Grant). When I entered Rowena Cherry, it said, "Gnod already knows Rowena Cherry". I tried twice and it said the same thing both times.

So I guess that means you're already in, Rowena. :o)

message 5: by Rowena (new)

717257 Voted for Dee Marie, Jaimey Grant, Victoria Twead. Your names are on the board at the moment.

Hi Jaimey,
Thanks, and I've voted for you now. Dee, what is your complete name so I can vote for you?

Victoria Twead

message 7: by Victoria (new)

2303781 Thanks Rowena, and Dee, I've voted for you now.

Victoria Twead

message 8: by Gina (last edited Oct 21, 2009 08:27AM) (new)

1515960 I've voted for myself and everyone else who's posted so far. :o)

Any idea how many votes you have to get before Gnod 'knows' you?

By the way, my full name's Gina Collia-Suzuki... quite a mouthful.

message 9: by Victoria (new)

2303781 Hi Gina, thanks for that, but I don't know your author name. Tell me and I'll vote for you too.

Victoria Twead

message 10: by Gina (new)

1515960 It's Gina Collia-Suzuki

I like your little Twitter birdie :o)

message 11: by Victoria (new)

2303781 Hi Gina,

Right, off to vote for you now. Does anyone want to tag each other on Amazon while we are at it?

My book has only been out for a week and badly needs tagging. It's 'Chickens, Mules and Two Old Fools' by Victoria Twead. Compliment reciprocated of course!

Glad you like the birdie!

Victoria Twead

message 12: by Jaimey (new)

1654851 Gotcha, Gina. :o)

It is a cute twitter birdie.

message 13: by Victoria (new)

2303781 Voted for you, Gina. :)

message 14: by S. (new)

948131 I voted for all of you that I saw on the first page--but I can't get it to show me more than ten names. What's up with that?

S. Michele Smith is my author name if you can find me there. lol

Michele

message 15: by Gina (new)

1515960 Jaimey, Victoria and Michele, thank you for voting! :o)

Michele, you can register a vote by typing the author's name into the 'Suggest a new Writer' box... it works the same as clicking on the 'yes' button next to an author's name. I have voted for you :o)

message 16: by Jaimey (new)

I gotcha, Michele. If you type in the names you don't see, it will add your vote.

~Jaimey

message 17: by S. (new)

948131 Ah, great! Thanks. Now to go type in names.

Michele

message 18: by Victoria (new)

2303781 Hi Michele,

Thanks, and your name is voted for now.

Rowena,
I typed in your name and it said "Gnod already knows Rowena Cherry."
Is there another place I'm supposed to go to, in order to "vote"

Thanks

I just finished typing in everybody's name who is on this page.

message 22: by Jaimey (new)

1654851 I gave you a vote, Elizabeth. :o)

Did anyone else happen to notice that Gina, Dee, Victoria and I each have a vote against us now? It looks like someone just went through and voted against all the ones showing.

Thank you for your votes Gina, Dee, Victoria, Elizabeth, Rowena and Michele! :o)

message 23: by Gina (last edited Oct 21, 2009 08:14PM) (new)

1515960 Oh my, what a pillock... excuse my French. Somebody's thinking (s)he's a clever little sausage tonight. (We need a 'roll eyes' smilie)

message 24: by Jaimey (last edited Oct 21, 2009 08:14PM) (new)

1654851 Yes, Gina. We do.

Need eye-rolling. Should have specified.

For a second there, I thought maybe my smearer had migrated over from Amazon. LOL

...maybe (s)he has...

message 25: by Victoria (new)

2303781 Elizabeth, you have my vote now.

Also, I've discovered if you let some time elapse, (not sure how long, 24hrs?) you can register votes again. So I've voted for the ones on the first screen again. How many votes do we need before it 'knows' us?

Victoria

message 26: by Rowena (new)

717257 Elizabeth, (and Dee, Gina, Victoria)

Thanks for making sure Gnod knows Rowena Cherry. I think that once "Gnod Knows ..." the author is considered verified. I believe I had 15 affirmative votes before I vanished from the sorting screen.

Sympathies over the pillock. Just because an ignorant person has never heard of you does not mean that you are not what you say you are!

message 27: by Gina (new)

1515960 I appear to currently have 32 votes... it suddenly shot up from 7. But I am still on the board. There must be something squiffy going on.

message 28: by Jaimey (new)

1654851 Definitely squiffy...

message 29: by Gina (new)

1515960 I have the urge to sing that song 'If you don't know me by now...'

Perhaps I'm not a writer. I wanted to be an archaeologist.

message 30: by S. (new)

948131 I like that word, squiffy. lol So, the more names I can track on here and add in as authors--who actually write and not just read--the more intelligent gnod becomes. Then shall we commence saying "gnod is in heaven and all is write with the world..."? ;-)

message 31: by Jaimey (new)

1654851 Gina, I can totally see you as a vampire hunter. Maybe an archeologist. Maybe the love child of Lara Croft and Van Helsing. :o)

message 32: by Gina (new)

1515960 Ooh, I'm liking the way your mind works, Jaimey. I need a whip.

message 33: by Jaimey (new)

1654851 I could write a book about you, Gina. ;o)

message 34: by Gina (new)

1515960 I hope it's not a murder mystery... and I'm the victim. ;o)

I've got 48 votes now, and I'm still not 'known'. I'm losing my sense of self here.

2738427 Great idea. Can someone nominate me ? http://www.helptalking.com/you-can-be-ri...

Is there anyone that needs me to nominate them? brett

I just nominated you, "Brett Williams."
You could add me if you'd like.
Elizabeth Blake
Thanks!

message 37: by Brett (new)

2738427 Thanks! You are in!

message 38: by Gina (new)

1515960 I've voted for you, Brett. I could still do with a vote - Gina Collia-Suzuki. 52 and still going.

message 39: by Jaimey (new)

Hi Rowena. Gnod only knows I'm new to all of this, but would a comprehensive contributor list like the one Dee created for twitter addy's be helpful here?

2819998 Gina wrote: "I have the urge to sing that song 'If you don't know me by now...'

Perhaps a singer? :) I'm freaking out reading through all of this. Gnod? I'm barely in the 'dawning awareness' stage in my twitter ed, now I need to figure out what in Heaven's name Gnod needs to know about me to determine if I should press on with my pen, ...or gear up to join you at the pyramids?

Hi Victoria,
I'm figuring out the Amazon-tagging game now and will get on board soon. Your book sounds fun. Just so you know, I refrained from copying your cute chickeny-looking twitter bird. I felt it would be fowl of me. :)

message 46: by Rowena (new)

717257 Just voted for Brett Williams and Elizabeth Blake. Thanks Elizabeth for giving both of your full names.

It seems to me that Gina and Charlotte Boyett-Compo are on the bubble, and we just need to add some more nominees to put them to bed.

Best wishes,
Rowena Cherry

message 47: by Gina (new)

1515960 I would very much like to go to bed... I need the rest. I shall go and nominate more authors forthwith.

message 48: by R. (new)

2895161 I will happy vote for those who have put themselves down on the list here so far.

In return, would somebody be kind enough to nominate me, and vote for my existence? (sounds like an odd form of philosophical democracy...)

message 49: by R. (new)

2895161 Also, if anyone's still following this and would be kind enough to vote for the existence of my co-author, Bruce Alan Johnson, I'd appreciate that as well.

So far as I can determine, Gnod has now confirmed that everyone else here exists. Very comforting!

message 50: by Gina (last edited Nov 04, 2009 12:19PM) (new)

1515960 I have voted for both 'R. William Ayres' and 'Bruce Alan Johnson'. :o)
