Just like the title says, what new books have you bought recently? List them here. Who knows, the titles we picked up might just encourage other members to look at those books too.
Me, I received Halfway to Hollywood Diaries 1980 to 1988 by Michael Palin and Unseen Academicals by Terry Pratchett from Amazon UK. A new Discworld novel from Pratchett! Oh, joy!
I bought three books from The Book Depository (http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/). I think the prices on Amazon (.com in this case; didn't check .co.uk) were cheaper, but The Book Depository ships books for free!I got Dorothy Dunnett's The Unicorn Hunt and To Lie with Lions to complete my set of her House of Niccolò series, and a companion volume The Dorothy Dunnett Companion: Volume II by Elspeth Morrison for reference.
(Why yes, it's an obsession.)
My most recent acquisitions -
Among the white moonfaces Memoirs of a Nyonya feminist by Shirley Geok-Lim Lin
A Cloistered War (Behind the Convent Walls during the Japanese Occupation) by Maisie Duncan
Dunno when I'll get round to reading them, but there they are :)
A couple of months ago I bought the following series:
Step Into The World Of.....1)Ancient Babylon 2) Ancient Persia 3) Ancient Greece. They look like books gor kids but I ended up reading them.

Went to Carrefour cari beras pulut, silap betul, terserempak jugak dgn buku (I am committed to NOT buying anymore for the rest of the year. Have been avoiding bookshops, book sales, book clearances what-have-you. Or so I thought. But these were RM5 each! Couldn't resist!)

Just got back from Borders at Tropicana City, Damansara. Bought four fiction, conspiracy type novels. One reason because they had a pick 2 get 20% off deal and other reason is, well....just look at the covers:

All four (different authors, different publishers) have the same cover style. It's a picture of someone with his/her back to the reader, walking away. Yes, I bought four fiction novels because their covers amuse me. I'm such a sucker!
Just last week I bought Soraya Book of Spells to read while waiting for lunch to be served. It's so cheap. Don't be surprise that a greater part of what I have read so far makes a lot of sense.
My latest book is Wish Club and Pretty litle mistake
Mind you people the latter book is not nice at all .....
i planing to buy 2 more book soon ...
