I gave it 4 stars as well....
Those poor poor animals.
There is a supervisor where I work that raised chickens and cows (dairy), and we discussed what I had read and how he handled his livestock.... Its funny how farmers stand up for their habits and methods.....

I am about 10 pages from the end. I read about 100 pages today (in the car as my hubby drove us all over the place on work errands)... I havent eaten any meat at all today. Just veggie soup and salad, and some zeopplis....
Okay... I REALLY need to just go get this book and read it!If somebody has a copy and wants to trade it, let me know! Otherwise, I'll be heading out to one of the local book stores soon... :)
Is it bad that I just got thru the chapters on disease and chickens that I just brought a chicken gyro from a street vendor?????
Well, the good thing is is that most of this stuff I already knew. I am not really a big meat eater but I will on occassion and depending on the way it is cooked. I am not so big on meat simply cause I don't really like it and I never did like seafood so I guess it sits well with me.
But a lot of it does kinda gross me out but I am liking the honesty in it all.
Not in a "oh this book is horrible" kinda way, but more in a "i cant give up meat, but i am afraid i will never be able to eat it the same again' kinda way.
Im in the almost mid 100's... maybe 125-135 pages in. It's already starting to bother me. I find it hard to pick up because I am afraid of what he will say next!!
That's fine with me. I just casually flipped through Eating Animals and read the first page, and then I couldn't stop!
ooopppss... Well, glad it made it finally!
Can we hold off on reading Secret History together for another week or so? I'd like to start Eating Animals, since everyone else is too :)
I picked mine up after work today. The Purolator note was for the book afterall.
I'm looking forward to reading it very soon.

If you haven't, I would like to find out where they are (they should all be in-transit, at least.)
Not yet, but I did get a Purolator note about a package for pick-up. It might be the book. I'll find out on Monday.
Ok here is an update for the winners of the giveaway.
The books order was apparently sent to the warehouse on the 16th. The woman I emailed said to give it a week. If you dont see anything, let me know and I will let her know!
Bummer! I guess I need to look through the forums more often. They're giving this one away on firstreads too if anyone here still wants to try for it.
