Morbidly Obese: Me too, it's more enticing than chocolate and just can't stop creating new chocolate desserts and devouring the others!

This all got started when I joined this group created by Amy. As a new member I was literally introducing myself to the group community and now it has spawned into a new member welcome within Poetry. We're all reaching out, sharing, and finding our way within the infinite sea of the internet universe and having some fun along the way :o) I posted a cine-poem under the video (poetry) section called "New York City Streets" which I invite you to check out. Thanks Gabrielle,Indeed, my roots are down there.
Love Goodreads and all the discussions.
Glad to be here.
Hello all, I joined Goodreads about three weeks ago. I'm getting used to all the sections, groups etc. in the site. I live in the Northwest. Last night I MC'd a reading with group of Local Latino Poets under the theme "Day of the Dead, a Day of Remembrance" had about 50 people in the audience. Here is my introduction to you;
I come from a place south where the sun shines fiercely, where corn grows, flanked by two mountain ranges the large valley within is known as Anahuac. Nestled between two oceans east and west. Now I live in a place surrounded by asphalt, cement, full of rushing cars and buses, coffee houses, fancy houses, empty houses. Where the seasons shine and hide in the winter months. Where rain falls, oh blessed rain.
Green mountains tall firs, pine and maple leaves fall. Snow mountain peaks jagged edges at the brake of sun, white powder clouds canvas where birds fly south to warmer places. My warm house full of books, laughter and celebration for the words, the words that call to be written, shaped into poems, however strong, raw, soft or coarse they called to be etched on paper, the only proof of my existence.
Thank you james for your comment. I will try and add some more over the time. Your comments are much appreciated.

As a new member of this group, let me say how happy I am to be with such talented company. Anyone out there doing poetry video? Please go to www.oldfamilymovies.com for two samples. Thanks so much.
