Nophoto-f-25x33 Can anyone recommend a great Christmas book for me to read, please (other than the Dickens Christmas books which are the only ones that spring to mind!)?

Thanks.

This is also my all-time favorite movie. :)

1396160 Skipping Christmas by John Grisham is a fun read. The movie is pretty good too, but I'd read before I watched.

I'm open to all genres, I would just like to find a nice Christmas read.

1702211 Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris is Christmas themed. Definitely non-traditional and humorous and not a typical heartwarming Christmas story, but a lot of fun to read. :)

2642503 I just found one I think I'll add to my own TBR: how about The Christmas Pearl Summary: The matriarch of a family of belligerent idiots, Theodora finds her efforts at bringing them together for a South Carolina Christmas reunion have gone badly awry, until a very special someone uses Gullah magic and common sense to bring about a miracle.
Sounds intriguing (short read 139 p.) :D

1405910 This is YA, I read it in Middle School and it made me cry like a baby: What Child Is This? A Christmas Story by Caroline B. Cooney. OMG what a sob fest. Then again, I had a tender heart back then. :-)

369169 Oh my god, how could I forget Dickens A Christmas Carol?????!!!!

message 22: by Tanja (new)

2342217 *giggles* I've seen a couple of holiday book threads and many have missed Dickens.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss and The Night before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore. It's a tradition for me to read every holiday.

2342217 Little Women and Little House on the Prairie have holiday scenes.

Hogfather by Pratchett and The Polar Express are good.

2739057 Debbie Macomber has an series about angels who come to earth to help people for the month of December, they are kind of feel good stories. A lot of the titles have the word Angel in them (I'm not sure how many there are) and one is called Shirley Goodness And Mercy

2225408 A friend of mine got The Magical Christmas Cat and I just adore the name (Nalini Singh's story in it was good, but nothing is better than that title)

1472632 Any of the many Christmas books by Richard Paul Evans

The Christmas Box
The Gift A Novel
Finding Noel A Novel
Grace A Novel
The Christmas List A Novel

Also The Christmas Sweater by *gasp* Glenn Beck

I know, I know, ignore the fact that he wrote it. It is an awesome, touching Christmas story.

2635637 Hello Julie.

I learned Wally Lamb has a new book coming out next month called Wishin' and Hopin': A Christmas Story. It sounds like quirky fun.
