I think we did something similar to this in another thread. Maybe that's why no one's posting here. Is that what you mean by "what happened"?
My faves are:
Stephen King: Salem's Lot, The Shining, Carrie, etc.
Richard Matheson: Hell House, I Am Legend, Stir Of Echoes
Joe Hill: Heart Shaped Box, 20th Century Ghosts
Bram Stoker: Dracula
Mark Z. Danielewski: House Of Leaves
Clive Barker: Books of Blood
