Charisse is a woman that many can identify with, if not for her standing in life, but her choices. Few of us have not dated a bum - many of us have done so unknowingly AND knowingly. Sometimes they don't start out that way, but evolve into bumdome over time. In Charisse's case, she often had an idea but didn't listen to that inner voice that said "run fast."

Everytime I found myself feeling sorry for Charisse, she would do something that would show that she isn't one to be played with. Some of the things that she says and does makes you laugh (often out loud). If not for her wit and handling of situations, she'd be more of a victim than a victor. In the end, she emerged a winner.

This is the first book that I've ever reviewed, so that is an indicator of how much I enjoyed it. While it deals with romantic issues, it isn't what I'd classify as a romance novel. And while not a self-help book, one cannot read it without some degree of reflection and personal evaluation. Often I can read a book and tell where it is going; this was not the case with this one. Everytime I thought I figured out what was about to happen, the author threw in a curveball which kept me up late at night trying to find where it would land.

I look forward to seeing more from this author in the future!

There isn't a woman I know, including myself, that can't relate to Charisse on some level. Very intelligently written and witty and "tears rolling down my face" at points funny. I give it five stars. Loved it. Looking forward to more movels from this new writer
