Novels with a Color and Woman/Lady/Girl in the Title
As I was thinking of a couple of upcoming reads, I wondered just how many titles we could think of where a color is used in conjunction with a term for female--woman, lady, girl. So, let us put our collective head together and see how many we can list and the book's reading status on our list. If read, you might make a comment on whether you liked it or not, or what you rated it. There might not be that many, but, then again, there might be a surprising many. I'll start off with two on my current to-read list.
The Woman in Black A Ghost Story -- I'm going to read this one for an October/Halloween read.
The Woman in White -- Well, of course, this one had to be listed with the one above. It's a to-read for me, too.

I thought it might be a fun thread. Thanks for adding The White Queen, one that I've meant to add to my to-reads, too. Also, thanks for expanding the category to some more female titles/names. When I saw your post, I said to myself (since no one else was around and probably would have thought I was just once again talking to myself, which I was), "Yes, yes, yes, queen is another excellent word to include in the search for female titles and colors."
Girl in Hyacinth Blue
I've read this one some time back, gave it 3 stars. It was a decent read, but not a favorite.
Bloody MaryCarolly Erickson
I have this one right now that I am going to start. I know it is not quite a color but blood connotates red.
She is also a Goodreads author
I think Bloody Mary goes nicely with the theme. So, once again, Carol, you have opened my mind another crack by using an actual name. Good work! That's one thing I thought would be fun, seeing just how far we can take this.

I just picked this one up at the library. It looked interesting . I am starting to read it now.
Suzanne wrote: "'The Black Dahlia' ???"I believe that qualifies just fine, Suzanne. Thanks for joining in. Think, think, think Bhumi. I know you can come up with one, too.

The Red Dahlia

Did anyone read this one. It was sooooo good.
Lori wrote: "((So happy this is growing.. It's interesting to see what you guys are posting!))"Lori, it does seem to be expanding nicely. I like that it has grown into more than I had thought of originally. Keep thinking and posting everyone.
I don't know if I like the Blue Lady or not. It is delving into the paranormal and superstitions of the Catholic church. I will keep reading though. It is a genre I have not read in a long time.
Princess in Pink, Meg Cabot
Tricky Dick and the Pink Lady Richard Nixon vs Helen Gahagan Douglas-Sexual Politics and the Red Scare, 1950, Greg Mitchell

Scarlet Woman White as Snow Mary Magdelene, Betty Marrapodi
Snow White And Rose Red, Patricia Wrede
Wow, great additions everyone! I'd like to see how many more we can get before proceeding with a new idea, which is books with a color in the title. I did an interesting quiz last night with that idea, but I'd like to give this thread a bit longer before expanding up the field wide open. I will post a link to the quiz later this week.

Well, the title/subject matter sounds very interesting. Let us know how it is.
