I'm going to skip this month, too. My local library doesn't have the book, so I've given myself permission to read other stuff :) So, is anyone reading it?
I am still behind, Chandra (surprise, surprise!), so I'm content to let this ride for a month! :) And, after all, this is a long-term project - I don't imagine that a month here or there is going to make much of a difference!
Not sure if anyone is planning on reading this month, but I have to bow out. I had really high hopes to catch up with this and the other Colum selection, but it's been an insane month and I'm behind on just about everything including my reading. I'm still hoping I can get back to this eventually so we'll just keep the thread around for whenever anyone gets to this selection.
The Voyagers: Being Legends and Romances of Atlantic Discovery by Padraic Colum.
I found this description:
A collection of tales about Prince Henry the Navigator, Ponce de Leon, Columbus, the island of Atlantis, and other matters connected with the Atlantic Ocean.
(From Children's Books And Their Creators by Anita Silvey)
This actually sounds kind of interesting to me! Hope I can track it down!
