Not a problem. There are all sorts of little tools in there - you can post a pic of yourself, a bio, and enter events (book signings, talks, etc.) This is all quite new to Amazon, so we'll see how much of it catches on - but it's relatively easy to do, so it makes sense to try it out. It's certainly very unlikely to hurt you, and it may help your fans connect better with your work.

Go to the front page for Amazon (www.amazon.com). In the search box, type "Author Central". The top line that will pop up will say "Visit Author Central (beta)", with an embedded link. Click that link, and then follow the instructions from there.

Let me know how it goes. It's a handy thing, but Amazon doesn't always make things easy to find!

I like the site. One suggestion: the "about the author" section is a little thin. And I notice you don't have an author site at Amazon (a new feature they just rolled out a month or two ago). You might consider telling folks a little more about yourself, or give some insight into why you write what you do.

I'd be curious to know how your direct sales off the website do, vs. sales through Amazon, bookstores, etc.

By the way, I've upgraded my book website.

I would join groups here that review short story collections and post a short comment that you are looking for reviewers. In my experience, when you offer a free book, reviewers come out of the woodwork. After all, like us, they love to read. That said, many prefer ARCs, the actual physical book, or a printed copy. So you might want to have some made.
