1857647 Nominate books for the different themes. Make sure you write which theme the book goes with!
Here are the ones that have been voted on so far...

If you like any of these...vote for them. If you have some other suggestions...let us know about them. :)

1817266 For Language I would also like to nominate
The Elements of Style, Fourth Edition (not as entertaining as 'Eat, Shoots and Leaves' but very informative)

and for non-fiction if you're into science at all
Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! Adventures of a Curious Character (I'm not into science much and I found it surprisingly enjoyable.)
Galileo's Daughter A Historical Memoir of Science, Faith, and Love (I have this somewhere and always thought it looked interesting)
The Scientists A History of Science Told Through the Lives of Its Greatest Inventors (Looks like it might be an enjoyable insight into science ... unlike those pesky classes I had to take in high school and college. haha)

1015470 For classics: The House of Mirth

2542416 I vote for Shiver
THe House of Mirth
and Ruined!

message 26: by Joy (new)

1857647 These two books could work for both Historical Fiction AND First in a series! :)
A Great and Terrible Beauty-Libba Bray
The Luxe-Anna Godbersen

message 33: by Joy (new)

1857647 Make sure you vote for any of the books that you like. :)

1918642 These are some that I thought sounded good that you mentioned and are already on my 'to-read' list:
The Eye of the World
Rhapsody Child of Blood
The Briar King
The Magicians' Guild
Dead Witch Walking
Daughter of the Blood

I absolutely loved Wizard's First Rule and would advise everyone to read that.

I hear Storm Glass is really difficult to get unless you've first read the 'study' series: Poison Study, Magic Study, Fire Study. That is a really good trilogy, though. I thoroughly enjoyed them and can't wait to read the 'glass' series next!

Oh and I also enjoyed Magic in the Wind (Drake Sisters, #1) and look forward to reading more in that series!
