Nophoto-f-25x33 I liked the idea of each person having a tank inside of them, ready to be filled by love. I do think Chapman has made an inroad on understanding what goes right and what goes wrong in some partnerships by categorizing the manners in which people give and receive love. I jumped off his ship after the many examples of how easily people changed to respond to their partners. I also found the preaching to be, while understandable in his life, and, while I do see the role Jesus plays in this world as a role model, to be unrealistic in dealing with people whose marital problems are not as surface as just needing to be approached in their particular loving *style*. In those ways, I found the theories somewhat insightful, but somewhat naive.

446541 Very interesting ideas. Love languages translate to our children as well (I'm pretty sure Chapman wrote another book about relationships with kids). I think of it occasionally but find it very hard to change my natural ways of showing love. Maybe I do see hubby's efforts more clearly though after reading it.
