670790 Two reviews, maybe it wasn't that bad. I will maybe have if the disc out there comes with a Writer's/Actor's/Director's Commentary.

Mawgojzeta, I hope you read the book, it's much better.

1698041 my boyfriend told me that i had to watch this because it was one of the best movies he had ever seen. (ever.) so i think i was expecting too much. ..i agree with Mawgejzeta, it was alright. it was pretty fun to watch but that was about it.

2045970 I thought the movie was alright. I would not go out of my way to see it again, but would not mind watching if it was playing on cable one evening. I do plan on reading the book at some point, as the movie did spark my interest.

1345249 I've only read the book, but I'm quite curious to see how they could pull off an R rating without cutting too much out.

299646 i'm curious too. i don't know anything about this movie. but if rockwell is in it, that's reason enough for me.

1613077 Jim - i've picked this up and put it back down again so many times now ... and while you're not raving about it - i think you may have just given me a reason to finally watch it ... i'm checkin' with my dvd fairy now ;o)

670790 I finally saw the movie. Trying to judge it fairly, I give it a six. It was very much a dark comedy instead of a dark film that I would have expected. There were some good moments in the film. Sam Rockwell I would have hand picked to play the role. He did a great job in some areas. Often he dumbed the character down. I found it disappointing compared to the book, but then again, it's not an easy task to put a Chuck Palahniuk book on screen. I would have expected this to be handled more like a Brett Easton Ellison book translated to film or I would not have wasted the time watching it. Fight Club was a great adaption of a Palahniuk book. In fairness I think Choke was a much harsher material, but perhaps a bit too taboo for a mainstream audience. With that a choppy ending leaving me wondering if there is a NC-17 out there somewhere or more film on disk.

670790 It's coming to cable later this month.

If so, like it? If you read the book, was it consistant and/or a good supplement to the book?

Thanks,

Jim
