1436355 i highly reccomend it it is really good- my friend Gina at work lent it to me telling me i would love it.

1334924 I know what you mean Jenn, I wanna read the Hunger Games. I gotta get on that!

message 34: by Jennifer (new)

1436355 i havent read much of the book yet and i started the hunger games which is really good and a quick read. i think house of leaves will be a slow one for me to read

message 33: by Jennifer (new)

1436355 well house of leaves is not available on the kindle and after buying it now i know why.

i know when we read stiff there was a lot of footnotes and it is not easy to navigate to read them and then get back to the page you are reading

message 32: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 That is a question for you, Jen.....;-)

Good point. How does Amazon handle books such as this and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close? How does it handle any book that has funky font things going on.

2504053 I went and bought the book this afternoon 40% off borders - YAY for coupons!
I will try and start it this weekend.

message 29: by Suzanne (new)

2404802 I feel the same way ...

message 28: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 I gotta admit I am having trouble mainly because I just can't get focused. There is so much BS already and I am trying to surpass it.

message 27: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 I am having a hard time getting into this book. Is anyone else having this problem? I keep going because I wanna give it a try but I am not really crazy about it.

message 26: by Jennifer (new)

1436355 sounds like a great idea :)

message 25: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 Maybe after u read it u guys can come over for wine and chats!

message 24: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 I wonder how it would look on the kindle. I am sure it would not be the same.

message 23: by Jennifer (new)

1436355 oh god if it was on the kindle i would never be able to figure the book out lol i am going to dive into it tonight. it definately is a bit intimidating but i think it will play into its spookyness

message 22: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 I like the idea hat's it's style is different but it is also intimidating LOL! Godd Luck Jen, I am glad you brought it instead of the kindle!

message 21: by Jennifer (new)

1436355 so i just picked it up yesterday and am going to start reading it tonight. i didn't realize it was such a crazy book on the insude typing this way and that way, upside down, i think this book may take some time for me to get through as well- but maybe once i start it i will understand the crazy way it is printed?

message 20: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 OK. This one is going to take me quite some time. Not because it is a fairly large book but because I keep getting sidtracked and forgetting what's going on. Not so much the authors fault but I keep drifting off to something else.

message 19: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 I just started it! It's fairly cheap considering... But borders is offering free s&h on orders over $10 and it's cheaper online than in the store

message 18: by Megan (new)

2504053 I don't think I am going to get it from the library in time .... maybe I will spend my lunches in Border's and slowly read through their copies like a slacker.

message 17: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 Great! And welcome!!!

message 16: by Ashley (new)

2365546 looks like I have another excuse to read it! Thanks for inviting me to the group Donna :)

(Went out and bought House of Leaves today... soo excited! :)

message 15: by Jeremy (new)

131708 Well, I still get to discuss!!

message 14: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 Well it looks like House of Leaves wins! Now I have no more excuses not to read it! I know many of you have read it too so you're off the hook...

message 13: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 HAHA. I thought STIFF was interesting but I probably would'nt have read it if it weren't for this Bookclub.

Sarah's Key is a read for my work Bookclub and then House of Leaves because of the obvious!

message 12: by Megan (new)

2504053 I couldn't possibly have an actual list of order for when I am going to read books. I am in the middle of like 4 different series and throw in some others to break it up. STIFF killed me and threw me off my reading track.

message 11: by Donna, The Pusher (new)

1334924 I brought it awhile back when it came out on Paperback but it is 3rd on my list.

1- The Lie - Chad Kultgen
2- Sarah's Key (completely different from above LOL)
3- House of Leaves

message 10: by Megan (new)

2504053 I foresee a winner and have placed it on my library reserve list - lol
