OMG you bought tickets to meet a millionare! :D Lucky. (I did the same thing - Red Sox and Rangers game.) Will there be a video clip? Very cool Tom. I am jealous.

Oh yeah!!! Got my tickets to see the man :). I was too late to get the vouchers for the presigned book, but I will be there. And cant wait to check out the local beaches in the area. I never knew there were keys over there too, lol.
May I suggest you skip Duma Key? lol
Glad you got your tickets before they sold out.

I have to say...I wish I could meet him. I know I'd be speechless and he'd think I was a moron, but still...

I agree Betsy
Same with me. I don`t think he`s ever been to Ireland. I think he`s been to the UK, but not here. Oh well!
LOL, yes Tom I'll probably skip Duma :). Are you from the area? Any suggestions on spots to check out?
I got seats in section 21 or 22 B(cant remember exactly), how about you? Did you see the inner circle seats go on sale a couple weeks ago? That would have been sweet! Too rich for my blood though.
Thanks again for the heads up on this one, I cant wait!
Fran,
We're going to "Michael's At The Van Wezel" before the show. See http://www.michaelsoneast.com/vanwezel.h...
I don't know much of anything about the area, even though I only live a couple of hours from Sarasota.
I'll let you know where our seats our when I get home.
The countdown is on! I cant believe just 4 more days and I will be in the same room with my favorite author. I really wish I could have gotten a presigned book voucher, but thems is the breaks.
I pre-ordered a book through amazon though and it is suppose to be on its way so hopefully I will at least be able to read it while im on vacation :)

ya never know! I 'do' know that I'd be kicking myself REAL hard if he did sign some and I didn't have my copy with me.
Stephen King conversation Nov 16
First words (at the crowd's size and our standing ovation) "Holy Shit"
There will be another DT, between 3 & 4
Peter Straub and Uncle Stevie will do another Talisman.
SK said the lack of text on the flaps was for two reasons:
1. At this point, anyone buying one of his books does so because they know and like his work.
2. SK has always considered them rife with *SPOILERS*.
While teaching HS, he related asking his wife what she thought would happen if Dracula was dropped into NYC (evidently contemplating Jerusulem's Lot at the time). Her answer? "He'd get hit by a cab". He responded 'thanks a lot', then asked what if he was put in a small New England town? BOOOOOOOLYA!!
SK stated that he would like to collaborate with Tabitha; they just have to agree on a topic.
King declined to point out the scaries part in UTD, but did say it's near the end, in 'Dark'. He then reminded us that it would be DARK when we left, and some of us forgot to lock our cars.
Sarasota Mayor presented King with a key to the city; said the key fit the residents' hearts.
I'll post more if the fog clears :) Fran, can you add any comments?
Uncle Stevie (he called himself that) said the new DT will not focus on Roland.
He confirmed he is a Democrat, but less 'left' than his 'foaming at the mouth' wife.
*SPOILER* below
I was hoping he would be asked about the corelation between Chef in UTD and Trashman in _The Stand_. I see a similar general character and physical manifestations, even though one is from drugs, the other from radiation.
*SPOILER* above
Still a little jetlagged from the 16 hour drive home, but I do remember him saying he threw the manuscript for Carrie out and his wife Tabitha (Thank God!) Dug it out of the trash and told him not to give up. Could you imagine if SK gave up and never pursued his writing?
Oh and remember when they presented him with the key to the city, he said his mastercard was the key to the city? LOL

He also talked about this possible sequel in MN this month. He made it sound like it was not really a possiblity. but who knows?
For anyone interested the talk that Stephen King gave in Minnesota this month is available on ITunes as a podcast. just search for- mpr midmorning podcast hour 2 with kerri miller and its listed as Talking Volumes with Stephen King and Audrey Niffeneger.
Bush White House inspired characterizations in 'Under the Dome,' Stephen King says. See:
