Anyone can make polls, Ella. Just click on the polls option, and if you look to the right of the existing polls, there's a create a poll option.
Why do you want to be moderator? There is no real advantage to it. I just delete spam and organize discussions when people put things in the wrong folder. Like your post above (#13) technically should be in it's own thread of non-related items. If you had put that on a new thread, I would have moved it.
