percy jackson is a movie.i've seen the trailer.
and because people have mentioned most of the ones i'd like already hunger games, city of bones, etc, i'll have to say eyes like stars, hourglass door. strange angels...
I would love to see Percy Jackson. Someone recommended Poison Study to read and I have become obsessed with getting and reading the whole series. I think they would be great for as movies too.

I just recently read that Casandra Clares The Immortal Instruments is going to be a movie. They are writing the script. Cant wait to see this one.
Thomas wrote: "Everlost and Unwind by Neal Shusterman, and the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare!"As I understand it, Shusterman finished the script for Everlost recently. I can't remember whether or not it's been picked up.
Malorie, with the Hype The Book Thief is getting I'm sure it wont be long before someone buys the movie rights and turns it into one.
Well, I guess it's no surprise that The Host is gonna be a movie, as they'll want to try and reign in as much as they can on Stephenie Meyer while she's still popular at the moment. But I'm happy to NOT see that movie. The book was soooo boring and I don't know if they could make the movie any better.I'm super excited for Percy Jackson though! It looks to be great! As well as the Hunger Games! Can't wait for that one! And I love that Suzanne Collins is writing the script! Should be great!
Jo wrote: "I would like to see The Host turned into a movie and Perks of Being a Wallflower"I agree with Jo, The Perks of Being a Wallflower would be an amazing movie.
I would also love to see The Book Thief become a movie.
Thomas wrote: "Everlost and Unwind by Neal Shusterman, and the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare!"
Totally the Mortal Instruments, which may I add, is apparently in the works!
Brenda wrote: "The Farseekers
I would like to see all the Obernewtyn Series!"
So do I!!!!
OMG!!!!
But I thought that since there are so many books, and we'd like them to do it well, maybe it could be a T.V series.
Unless it could be like Harry Potter?
:)
angie, I agree. I don't know how they will be able to stay true to the book without getting an R rating. I hope the don't tone down the violence for the movie. not that i'm all into the whole "lets brutally kill a bunch a kids and put it on tv" I just think it will take away the feel of the book if they do tone it down.
Cici I'm sure you've heard by now that "The Host" is being made into a move. I'm so excited.
Deanna wrote: "Also City of Bones"
I agree with both of yours, (city of bones and Gone) they are both great reads!
I want to see The Hunger Games and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian turned into movies.
I think that the Hunger Games is a great option !!! that movie could be really cooland also "A Great and Terrible Beauty" i just love those books and i think would make awesome movies <3<3
I think they will. Its a young adult book really so they can't not aim the movie at young adults and teens. I'm not sure how they can have a killing game with toned down violence though!
I don't know how I feel about the Hunger Games being a movie! Do you think they would tone down the violence for a PG 13 rating?
I heard Hunger Games should be out 2011! I don't want to wait that long!! I'd love to see The Host as a movie too. Graceling too. I liked to see Wicked (the witch of the west) as a movie but more like the book than the play.
Maybe. I think it will have to be pretty long to get all the details in to make the people that didn't read the book understand it
None actually. Because movies are just not good enough to keep up with the books. Movie-scripts should be originally written for the movie.
BTW, those were the two books i would really like to see as movies...
Sometimes wishes do come true. :D
The Hunger Games is currently In Development and was bought by Lionsgate so im preeettyy sure its gonna be a movie released in 2011.
As for City of Bones, I copied something of of Cassandra Clare's Blog and here it is:
"...the film rights to The Mortal Instruments have been optioned by Unique Features. This is a film production company set up by former founders and co-presidents of New Line Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, who oversaw the production of the Lord of the Rings movies — probably my favorite fantasy movies of all time. They're very dedicated to fantasy and they understand it, and I definitely trust them with the story of the Mortal Instruments.
Now, a book series being optioned doesn't mean a film is being made right now or is definitely going to be made at all — it means that the studio or production company in question is developing the books as a film project — right now they've nailed down financing and a screenwriter (I don't know who that is yet) and are working towards the next stages in the development project. It is, however, an important step in the movie-making process, so I feel like it's okay to be excited about it. :)"
hunger games with out a doubt, though I'm not sure if it would translat into a pg-12 movie well. I see more of an R rating in my mind which would kind of limit the young adults.
Ooohh this is good! I would love to see the Tales of Beetle the Bard made into a movie. The graveyard book would probably be a great movie too!
So in this discussion, I was wondering, are there books that you'd liked to see made into a movie. It could be a series it could be anything.
For me... right now the book I would most like to see made into a movie would have to be Noughts and Crosse by Malorie Blackman.
I think that it is a wonderful book that tugs at your heart stings, and makes you hate rascim and discrimination all the more, but also love, love all the more.
