The words were strapped into my head and they weren't moving anywhere. The words 'Which shall be soon' kept on running through my head. Like a fish that's stuck on a hook. I paced around the room frantically, hoping for something to come to my head. The stake was still in my hands and was starting to get really sweaty.

"Rose! Are you even listening to me? I mean, what are we going to do!?" She was freaking more then me. "I don't want you to get hurt. Please. I need to help."

Her words sunk into me. Giving me no choice but to bring her with me. My mind blew up with questions when my thought was decided. What if she got hurt? What about killed? What if her spirit starts to take over her again? What if starts to take over me? My head start to hurt. It isn't natural for a girl like me to think this much.

"Rose!" She yelled in my face. "Talk. Let it out. Dont keep everything inside. I know you dont want me to control you're life, but you have had that same facial expression for almost 2 minutes straight and thats not normal," She pleaded. "You're scaring me."

"Jeez, what are you? My therapist" I told her.

She gave me a sincere smile since i changed my expression and spoke out loud. However, i still needed time to think, so i just sat on her bed and dug my face into my hands hoping for her to understand. Her response was to sit by me and wrap her arm around me. Close enough.

I cant just bring Lissa alone. I would bring my mom. Maybe. But if i said even a word about leaving the academy again, she would lock me in my room. So mom is definitely off the list. Uhmmm, Christian? Nope, there fighting anyways and i do NOT want to lose my concentration if those two are arguing. Damn. I can think of anyone. I'll think of someone later.

"Alright, Liss, you can come with me," I told her. "But, i don't want any questions about it right now. I'm still not even sure im going yet," Which i- we, probably are. "But for now, i think im going to stay at the academy."

"Lissa's eyes flew up with a huge grin across her face like a 5 year old on Christmas morning. "Oh, Rose! You have no idea on how much i missed you!" She squealed

"Alright Liss," I laughed. "I need to go and talk to Alberta and enroll into this hell school again."

This going to just like when me and Lissa came back to St. Vladamir's before, except this time, I'm facing it alone. Right when i walked out of Lissa's door, eyes turned to me. Oh great, i thought to myself. And so it has begun.

The walk to the office was totally akward. I saw some faces i knew stare at me. Like the girls that Lissa hung out with when she was going through her crazy phase with spirit. Then i saw Christian look at me like i was some ghost that came back from the grave. I mean, he was staring at me like when in movie some kid that randomly stares at you and then a second later they hit a wall or fall into a trash can, but no. There was no trash can. Making that expression stay on his face.

But it wasn't just Christian, it was everyone. They were staring at me with same confused and surprised expression. Except for Mia. Mia was standing there with a grin slapped onto her face, she walked up to me, which everyone of her other friends were to scared to do.

Mia's blond curls bounced as she walked toward me. Her grin was still placed on her face. Me and Mia have been on okay terms now ever since Mason died. I gues you could call us friends.

"Hey Rose, havent seen you in a while," She smiled. "How has it been?"

"Uhmm good?" Me and Mia may not hate each other, but that doesn't mean i like her enough to trust her.

She just gave me one of her smiles and left. Guess she had nothing to start gossip about. Good, i thought.

When i reached Alberta's, old but, again, new office, she was sitting in her desk reading something on her computer. When she looked up and saw me she waved me to come and sit down.

"So Rose? Have you decieded yet?" She smiled at me.

"Yup. I'm going to stay. But have you talked to anyone about putting me back in line to be Lissa's guardian?" I asked.

"That's wonderful Rose," Then she smiled, and it wasn't one of her i-feel-bad-for-you smiles. "And yes, i have Rose. I see that you are wearing you're hair up today and almost everyone has noticed the marks on you're neck. After seeing how well you do, they have decided to give you're position as Lissa's guardian back. However, you must remain at the academy."

"Really?! It was that easy!" I cheered. "Thank you SO much Alberta!"

With that i walked out of the room. Then i saw the perfect person to take with Lissa and I at the end of the year. I walked up to him on put on my sly grin. He was already smiling before i even started to walk.






Spirit Bound -- chapter 2

"Rose Hathaway is asking me, Adrian, to help assist her?" Adrian smirked.

My smile was long gone by now and this converstation was really starting to turn out more annoything then i thought. "How many times do i have to go over this. You. Are. Coming. With. Me. And. Lissa. To. Kill. Dimitri."

"Wait. I thought you told Alberta, that you;re staying until you graduate?" He questioned.

"I am."

"What if he gets here before you and Lissa graduate? He might bring a whole army by the sounds of what you did to him," He smirked.

I ignored that second part not wanting to get the thought in my head. "You think i havent considered that? It's just that i cant make Lissa leave. Not now at least."

"So, leave her behind."

"This coming from the guy who was actually begging me to come back to Lissa because i left her."

He didnt have a reply. Good, i thought.

"Well, i said i would come," was his reply.

"Uhmm, no. No, you didnt say anything, yet," I smirked with a wink. That outta' get his attention.

"Hmm," He started. "I guess that queen Tatina wouldnt mind a responsible adult taking care of her apperntice, So, i guess i should come."

"You? Responsible? Thats rich," I laughed. "But good. You're a go." Lets just hope Dimitri doesnt come before then.

He just smiled, excused himself and went to go find Lissa for there sunday lessons. Since i was going to be doing things like i used to, before i left i thought i should go to church. For old times sake.

The walk to the chapel was worse to the walk to Albertas office. Maybe i should go to my room, i thought. No. Im going to have to have to face this sooner or later, and sooner is way better. People were going to ask how my journey went, so instead of telling them i tied up my hair into a bun showing my marks. The second my mark was visible, i heard people gasp. Jeez, wannabes, i thought to myself.

"When i finally reached the church, there was a new priest. Yet somehow, he knew me. "Rose Hathaway," he smiled. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Father Shay, please sit down."

What happened to the other guy? He was pretty old, but i'll miss him. He gave me the first clue with Lissa and her powers and out bond.

I forgot how boring curch was when Father Shay started talking. I remember why i went to church before, to see Lissa. And only Lissa. After another 10 minutes i just tuned my self out.

The thing finished about an hour later. I nearly ran out of the chapel, happy to smell the fresh air not some strong vinegar type scent that the priest calls 'holy water'. The air was cool and moist, just the way it was in Russia. THat reminded me, I should call the Belikovs soon to let them know im okay. I might even call Abe because of the good mood im in.

I walked back to the dorm, more eyes then before for some strange reason. People were still gasping and making a big fuss over my marks. I thankfully saw Lissa and ran over to her.

"Lissa! Lissa!" I yelled at her. "Wait for a second."

Not that she needed to, i could catch up to her easily as a dhaphir.

"Rose! How was church?" She laughed.

I shot her the look of death, she remembered how much i hated church. Even though i forgot. "You know how much i hate church." I shot back at her.

"Then why would you go?" She mused.

"I dont know! People were staring and i saw the chapel and the old priest was so nice- what happened to him anyways?" Curiosity popped in my head again.

"Rose, he was almost a 100 years old," Those eyes were deep and full of sorrow. "And get this, the new preist is only human. He's not a moroi or dhampir or anyhing. Just human."

Thats strange, i thought. Why would the academy higher a human priest? Why would a human priest want to talk about history thats not even from his own race? Why would he even want to talk about any history? Liss, probably missed the priest more then me. He helped us so much before we knew about spirit and when she was in the chapel but not in the attic, he would help her inderstand her powers from what he knew.

"That is strange, but he seemed nice enough," I said. "Probably to scared to say anything to us."

She laughed and rolled her eyes, " Probably."

well i think spirit bound refers to the shadow-kissed and the strigoi in general. or just to rose, because she'll probably say something like, "oh i guess i'm still spirit bound."...or..."i will always be bound to my spirits." or something like that if she like dies and Lissa and Adrian heal her. again.

I've always wondered if 'spirit bound' refers to rose/dimitri... instead of dimitri and someone else.

i think that since rose promised to give adrian a chance she''ll break up w/ him in a month or so. adrian will be on the rebound and he gets together w/ mia and since he is sooooo heartbroken over rose he'll won't even notice that mia ain't royal

Heres what i think. Every spirt user is usually bound to someone, e.g lissa and rose and Avery and her brother. So i think when Rose and Lissa help Victor escape from prison, he will take them to his brother. The brother will then help Rose wtht eh dimitri situation for something in return (not sure what that is yet) then he will heal him. But you cant just change a vampire to human, so he will be changed from a strigoi to a moroi. But i think Dimitri will reject the change and start to die, Adrian will then heal him and become spirit bound to Dimitri. Rose and Dimitri will then be together and can have dhampir children. I think Victor will still be evil and i think Eddie will be the hero in the end. I love Adrian but i dont think him and Rose will end up together, so i think he and Mia will become and item. Also Lissa and Christian will get back together. But i think the Victor situation will be left on a cliff hanger so the author can use the Victor and his brother material for the next book. i honestly cannot wait for it to come out.

i totally agree, Kriss, about how adrian and rose going out will only last for spirit bound. and i think it's going to end no matter if rose says she just can't do it and try again later, or if adrian dies(which now i think is so unlikely).
BTW, Kriss where did you hear that mead said there was gonna be 7 books with the original characters and another 7 books possibly based on the future after rose, dimka, liss, adrian,etc.

Angelwings is completely right, but the Adrian-Rose thing will probably only last in Spirit Bound, but most likely not in book 6, whatever it is going two be called. BUT WE MUST REMEMBER that there is going to be two more books after Spirit Bound. Like Mead said, 7 books with the original characters and 7 books possibly based on the future after Rose, Dimitri, Lissa, Adrian, ect.

This whole series revolves around Dimitri, sort of. And because of that, I don't think Rose is going to be with another guy.

Call me weird... but I actually don't believe that Dimitri would be trying to kill Rose. I mean, why would he? He saved her life on the bridge knowing full well that his own life could be in trouble, and told Rose that it would take a lot for him to kill her. By the way, if he was looking angry or really pissed off when Rose put a stake (almost) through his heart, then maybe I could understand him trying to kill her. Bu he wasn't he just looked kind of sad and surprised. And maybe, again, call me weird... but isn't their a chance that the stake sort of 'healed' him mentally? I mean, its life and magic, right?

I'm dying for this book to come out... Me and a friend were going to camp out at the bookstore. I think this Lissa :) will use her spirt to make dimitri alive again because his undead so can he be un-dead-dead? I rose died before, Lissa brought her back... I'm not sure but i still cant wait

If Dimitri wanted to kill rose, he would've done it a long time ago when he had so many chances. I think that he really wants to turn her. Cant really blame him acting 'evil'... he's not a dhampir anymore so it would be very unrealistic if he still acts like it after being turned into a stirgoi. I think Mead did a great job writing dimitri as a stirgoi... he was somehow evil and twisted, but still has that human side after meeting rose. it kinda makes u wonder if a monster can still have a part of his soul...

yeah shadow kiss made me cry and every other time i read it too. and personally i actually feel that Rose should get together w/Adrian so they could have kids, and Adrian really does like her and i mean like! and since dimitri sort of told rose that he was gonna kill her and not stop until she was dead--which also sort of confuses me when you think he'll let rose and liss heal him. and aren't we talkin victor here-- he can turn on them as fast as they'll turn on him. still, i think rose will find that adrian can be her prince. she can have 2 soulmates. and bloodpromise she did admit that she missed him and was jealous of avery almost getting it on w/ him.
so i think liss and christain should get back together, adrian and rose should get together, dimitri should die, queen tatiana should get replaced with lissa, and victor and his bro should disappear.

okkkkay...i dont know how Mead is gonna pull this one off! Shadow Kiss was SOO DAMN AMAZING! Expectations were very high for Blood Promise... as you could've seen if you were following it! LoL! I dont think I'm writing a fanfiction for this book though. I dont seem to have enough time...sadly... I am very busy still writing my book that I started in May. I'm expected to be done soon though! YAYY! Imm sooooooooooooooooooo excited for this book, but I think I was more excited for Blood Promise because of the way Mead ended Shadow Kiss... Shadow Kiss made me cry sooooooo much!lol

Yeah. But seriously, Rose promised Lissa that she could come, and Rose doesn't seem like one to turn on her word. And the reason, I think, that the book is going to come out like in twelve hundred months is partially for publicity, and partially to smooth out any rough edges.

I think that Dimitri will not find Rose in this book since there is a 6th book. but i do think that rose will hook up with adrian and persuade him to help her break victor out of jail since she probably doesn't want to get Lissa involved because of her boy troubles and the avery thing and that victor is her worst nightmare. but i also think that when Lissa does get involved that victor and strigoi/moroi brother will turn on them, kill adrian, try to kill them, but christian and MIA come to help and they end up killing victor and the strigoi dude. But i don't think that christain dies, just gets hurt alot but lissa and him get together. mia goes back to her water fighting training.

and the tarot cards saying heartbreak i think that meant adrian dying, the lying and travel ones is like for when and if she and lissa get captured by dimitri and break out victor since she probably had to lie to her for her to come w/(I say lissa too because she made rose promise to take her w/ her to do something dangerous and stupid). and the accuse one for the queen accusing her of something she did and didn't do(in book 3 the queen accused rose of getting it on with adrian, but i think in book 5 she really is going to get it on w/ adrian) then rose is gonna accuse th queen of sleeping w/ a dhampir when the queen called her a bloode whore.

wow, if the tarot reading is from 2/3 of the book... what are they doing in the first 360pgs!! I hope it's something interesting. I actually thought that the whole 5th book was about rose and the others traveling and breaking victor out and finding his brother then find dimka. but if that's all done at the end... i hope the first 360pgs arent only about Lissa and the bitchy queen and the court!

Right! But I don't honestly think that anything major will happen to Dimitri during Spirit Bound. I mean, during Richelle Meads excerpt, the said she was reading from 2/3 of the way through, and it was about Rose chilling with the fortune teller in the Royal Court. So, if you do the math, and the book has around 530 pages, that means that she was reading at about page 360 something. That would leave only 180 something pages left, which is too short to really do anything. (Except perhaps break Victor out of prison. Or have Dimitri find Rose again.).

I agree with Jasmine I think the possibility of Dimitri being a good strigoi is higher than him becoming a dhampir again...and i like it way more I mean if he goes back to dhampir woudnt that mean hes got to be guardian again n then him and rose cant be together? but if he remains strigoi then they can totally be together! and it even opens up the opportunity of them havin a family cuz dhampirs cant have children but what about a dhampir and a strigoi thatd be cool and new wouldnt it? i think it would be awesome but thats just me i dont know

I really like Adrian and kinda hope then end up together. But what I really think will happen is that Adrian & Rose will get close in this book. By the end they will bring Demitri back or save him or whatever and she'll have to choose. Of course she will end up choosing Demitri and they will live happily ever after. Hopefully we get to see Adrian in one of the spin of books :) Adrian really is one of my favorite character's.

i think rose will stay with Adrian and kill dimitri sad but that might be a posibality

um... kinda. Like I said, it was just a thought. Seriously, though, my main point is really that Dimitri can't be returned to his old dhampir self. It was hinted in Blood Promise. His soul will probably be returned, his old ortal body, not so much.

whats the point of the series if everyone icluding the main character dies? rose went through everything just to die?

i think that rose and lisa will break victor out and find his brother. then i think his brother will charm a steak with spirit so rose can steak dimitri and some of the spirit will heal his dhampir self. then lisa and adrian will heal the rest of dimitri andwhen hes healed he'll be a dhmpir again because magic is alive and it could only bring back the side of dimitri that was alive

Also, I really don't think Dimitri is going to be a dhampir again. When he was holding the ring in Blood Promise, Rose specifically noted that he was defiently still a Strigoi, just mentally more like his old self. That would be a fairly awesome plot twist.
