I call our next challenge Reading with Friends September Challenge.

The goal is to read 9 books chosen from the "Read" shelf of 9 GR friends of the participant.

Here are the rules:

Pick 9 GR friends of yours. (If you have less than 9, you might need to get more...LOL...)
Browse their "READ" shelves, and pick one from each friend. You may use GR's compare books feature for your convenience.
Post your tentative list, with the selected friends' names and your chosen books.

As usual, you may post your list anytime but no reading them until September 1st.

PS: Mel will be helping me with updates for the challenges. Thank you Mel for offering your assistance.

Hey! A REALLY easy way to find out if a friend has read a specific book is to look at the page for an individual book and scroll down to see if any of your friends have rated it. "My friends reviews"

I'd love to participate in my first ever reading challenge too, but like Valarie, don't have many friends. If anyone is able to help me out, pls send a friend request. Thanks!

Sweet. I think I'll jump back on the bandwagon with this one. All those challenges that required sci-fi and time travel choices scared me away! I just couldna do it, cap'n.

I totally looked up the books I was going to read anyways and got lucky that they were all already read by one of my goodreads friends. I wasn't thinking I was going to do the challenge this month because it will be a busy time with school starting up, but lucky me this one goes along with what I'd be reading anyways!

Yes, Jo, to complete the challenge all books must be read by the end of September. Not everybody finishes, but attempting to is just as fun.

I love the idea of this challenge because if nothing else it helps all of us make more goodreads friends! I am extremely busy right now home schooling two grade schoolers and taking 13 credit hours myself, but I will put a list together and see what happens! Thanks Yz

I sent lots of invites. Now. :o) Now, to try to find some books on everyone's lists that 1) i have on hand or 2) i can get from the library. Gotta watch the pennies right now--due to head to my Mum's in Oct. for her birthday (82 years young) so I'll need money for a 2k mile round trip.

lol, hey, after all this time with FOUR friends, now I have lots and lots (well, comparatively speaking, that is.)

I'm taking it that if someone has a book on their TBR list we can also use that for this challenge. If not I'm sort of in a pickle. Sigh, the problem with reading a LOT is that you have trouble with finding books from friends. :o)
