I'm laughing out loud as I look back at this thread. Of my original list, and my revised list, I have read exactly 1 (ONE) book.
But I have read some GREAT books lately! Time to re-do my list, I do believe.
In November I plan to read:
Shadowland
The Magician's Nephew
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
The Horse and His Boy
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader - Narnia #5 (not on GR??)
The Silver Chair
The Last Battle
Read, but not on the list:
City of Ashes
Marked
The Van Alen Legacy
13 Bullets
Interview With the Vampire
I am Scrooge A Zombie Story for Christmas
I did like it. I actually enjoyed this book more than the first 3! Let me know what you think of it once you receive it.
In November I plan to read:
Chosen
Untamed
Hunted
Tempted
Shadowland
The Magician's Nephew
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
The Horse and His Boy
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader - Narnia #5 (not on GR??)
The Silver Chair
The Last Battle
Read, but not on the list:
i cant decide what i will read in a month as i always end up getting a new book and push some of the old ones back so my list that i actually have TBR are as follows (in no particular order):
The Gargoyle
Bitten
Blood Promise
Stray
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The Queen of the Damned
The Awakening and The Struggle
The Fury and Dark Reunion
Kissed by an Angel Collector's Edition Kissed by an Angel; the Power of Love; Soulmates
Charlie Bone and the Red Knight
Tithe
A Great and Terrible Beauty
The Awakening
The Summoning
Strange Angels
The Vampire's Assistant
Blood Sinister
A Kiss of Shadows (Meredith Gentry, #1)
Shopaholic Ties the Knot
The Secret Hour
Succubus Blues (if it ever gets sorted out)
Living Dead in Dallas
Guilty Pleasures
I always try that but then my mood changes and all gets messed up or something new comes out that i forgot about.
I know! I'm so excited about that. I am trying not to add new books to my list unless I really am going to read them soon.
Good start! It won't be long till you have read more books that you didn't have on your list than the ones you did.
In November I plan to read:

Hey, how do you do the strikethrough to cross books off your list?
In October I plan to read:
1. Chosen
2. Untamed
3. Hunted
4.
5-6. Wicked Witch & Curse
7. Inkheart
8. Inkspell
9. Inkdeath

LOL I didn't even notice that! What a weird coincidence. I wonder what else I have at home to read that only has a one word title...
That would be a cool challenge actually lol. Read all the single word title books that you have been meaning to read forever. Although that could take forever!
Hey Linda Grace ... was it part of your challenge for October to read single word titled books? I just notice that (except #5) & thought it was funny. Coincidence? :)
In October I plan to read:
1. Chosen
2. Untamed
3. Hunted
4.
5-6. Wicked Witch & Curse
7. Inkheart
8. Inkspell
9. Inkdeath

Thanks Dean :) I definitely won't finish my list i made to be done by the end of october. No way! I have read about 3 books already this month that weren't even on the list. Oh well, i started with good intentions!
Good luck with completing your list! Hopefully you won't be like me and stray from it and end up not finishing it. I am with you, i had so many books at home that i hadn't read and making a list gave me motivation. I hope you reach your goal!
So here's my TBR list to start with. It includes a few books I don't own, but was already planning to read for another challenge.**I own
The Traveler
Heart and Soul
**Barking: The Sound of a Language
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
**Little Women
**The Lost Symbol
Me of Little Faith
The Poisonwood Bible
**Water for Elephants
**The Nonrunner's Marathon Guide for Women
**From Baghdad With Love
**The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
**The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency
**The Girl Who Played With Fire
**For Whom the Bell Tolls
**Monday Night Jihad
Shanghai Girls
First They Killed My Father
Three Cups of Tea
**The Third Jesus
I'm hoping to have these completed by the end of the year. I think that's realistic. At least I hope so!
Alright, I like this idea. I was just working on my 'books I own but haven't read list' and it's over 70 and I'm not done! So I've decided to create a challenge for myself. I'm going to (try to) read 4 books that I own per month to bring that # down. Theoretically, if I didn't buy any more books, I would be down to zero in a year & a half. lol .. but I don't imagine myself not buying another book for a year & a half .. heck, I can't even really imagine myself not buying another book for a WEEK & a half! 4 books a month is a low number, but I wanted to leave time for other books, in case I borrow, check out from the library, or those other books I'm 'not' going to buy in the meantime. :)Sounds like I'm in good company here. Thanks everybody .. you've motivated me!
Happy Birthday Jo!I won't complete my list... well I don't think I will. I'll be done with Blood Meridian and Dorian Gray at the same time and that will be half of it done then. But a couple I've got left are quite long.
I`m hopeless at lists they would make me feel like I was at school, the way I do it is that one book leads me into another,so I have a treasure trail of books!!!
Lol i always just end up buying something or remembering about one that i already have that i want to read
In October I plan to read:
1. Chosen
2. Untamed
3. Hunted

5-6. Wicked Witch & Curse
7. Inkheart

9. Inkdeath
10. Fire

Have you read Sei Shonogan's Pillow Book? She was considered the rival to Murasaki Shikibu, the writer of "The Tale of Genji." I thought that was an interesting book as it talks of court life and gives lists and bits of gossip and so on...
I was thinking of getting this one
. Not sure if it's a good version or not.No, I've never read it but I will certainly look out for it. I love stuff to do with Japanese culture ( so if you have anything else to recommend feel free!), I'm really hoping The Tale of Genji is as great as I've heard. Have you read it? What did you think of it?
Dean wrote: "I might as well make one, I'll do one for what I aim to read by the end of the year. I'm probably being a tad bit optimistic, especially with how slowly I'm reading Dracula right now.
