Ahab's Wife Or, The Star-gazer A Novel by Sena Jeter Naslund is one of my very favorite books. The main character, Una, is a great female character and the book covers all kinds of interesting ground.
She also wrote a book called Four Spirits A Novel about the Civil Rights movement in Alabama. That one was okay.
I think the next book I read will be Abundance A Novel of Marie Antoinette. I've heard a lot of great things about this and I'm excited to get started on it.
Has anyone else read much by this author?
I've read Abundance, and enjoyed it. All the Marie Antoinette books I've read (maybe 3?) have all sorta run together though, none of them have stood out.
Ahab's Wife Or, The Star-gazer A Novel is one of my favorite books, too. I, also, thoroughly enjoyed Abundance A Novel of Marie Antoinette. I have Four Spirits A Novel waiting on my shelf, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Naslund is a fantastic author.
I loved Ahab's wife for the first 2/3 of the book. It was gorgeously written, but after that, I felt like it was just a lesson in name dropping.
Abundance I loved the whole way through. I even bought it on audio, because it's beautiful enough to listen to more than once.

As much as I loved Ahab's Wife, Kandice, I do have to agree that Naslund seemed to get a little carried away with the name dropping and coincidental meetings in the last half.
