135263 I'm right with you, Ken, on William Carpenter. I read his book Rain when it first came out, and it remains one my favorite collections of poetry. How can you write that, win the Morse Prize for it, and then just walk away?

255738 The Kingdom of Ordinary Time by Howe and Ilya Kaminsky's New Republic...

847894 I'm currently reading Becoming by Lacresha Hayes. It's really good, albeit graphic. She has a new one coming out in February or March called Poetic Infinity. So, I know that is a definite purchase. I'd also like to see Rachel Zucker's new collection too. She's one of my favorite poets.

226404 At the risk of sounding unforgivably immodest, I'm mostly looking forward to getting my Bridge of Silver Wings title published. Definitely working on it. But other than that, it should be interesting to see what happens with the work of the recently deceased poet Sekou Sundiata, who was very prolific but who recorded most of his material rather publish it in book form.

152399 I've been out of the country for a while, so I missed the releases of Donald Revell's last two books: Pennyweight Windows and A Thief of Strings.
I love Revell's poetry and have been delighted by the arc his career has taken since There Are Three. I hear these new books are lovely.

Here's one from A Thief of Strings:

Election Year

A jet of mere phantom
Is a brook, as the land around
Turns rocky and hollow.
Those airplane sounds
Are the drowning of bicyclists.
Leaping, a bridesmaid leaps.
You asked for my autobiography.
Imagine the greeny clicking sound
Of hummingbirds in a dry wood,
And there you’d have it. Other birds
Pour over the walls now.
I’d never suspected: every day,
Although the nation is done for,
I find new flowers.

163355 Rachel Zucker's The Bad Wife Handbook.

I LOVED her collection The Last Clear Narrative; it blew my mind!

I expect her new one will do the same.

415076 "Music for Landing Planes By," by Eireann Lorsung, is spectacular. Came out a few months ago, I believe. If you're into elliptical-type poetry, definitely check it out.

Alex Lemon's next book, "Hallelujah Blackout," should be coming out relatively soon. His first book, "Mosquito," is awesome.

13666 Dream Death just came out. It's a really beautiful first collection. I highly recommend it. Oh, hard to find without the author's name it seems...It's Satyananda J. Gabriel.

158571 California Press is coming out with a collection of unpublished writings by George Oppen. Suppposedly it's a collection of random prose, unfinished poems and excerpts from his day books. Looking forward...
