2143351 Are people ready to read a book? We could have a theme once and awhile like "Lesser Known President" or "First Ladies"

Any thoughts on what you would like to read?

1892377 I actually have a few I would like to read...

If we decide to read about Lincoln, how about one of his biography's? I haven't read any of these yet. Does anyone have an opinion on which order they should be read? I was thinking "Herndon's Lincoln" to be first, but then I am at a loss. I also own Michael Burlingame's extensive two volume effort, but I've been thinking that that should be the last one. But maybe by then I'll be sick of the whole thing... lol

Herndon's Lincoln (Knox College Lincoln Studies Center) Lincoln Lincoln A Life of Purpose and Power A. Lincoln A Biography

Or what about "Lesser Known Presidents" like John Tyler, John Q. Adams, William Jennings Bryan, or Grover Cleveland? My choice here would be the Grover Cleveland book, but any one of them looks good.

John Tyler, the Accidental President John Quincy Adams A Public Life, a Private Life A Godly Hero The Life of William Jennings Bryan An Honest President The Life and Presidencies of Grover Cleveland

Theodore and Franklin Roosevelt are also fascinating reads... Edmund Morris's two volume bio of TR are exceptional! I do plan on rereading these. Also, I will be reading "No Ordinary Time" by Doris Kearns Goodwin starting in the middle of October since I also belong to another Goodreads group 'The History Book Club'.

The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt (Modern Library Paperbacks) Theodore Rex (Modern Library Paperbacks) No Ordinary Time Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt The Home Front in World War II

2143351 I'd love to read Morris' books, too. I own them but have not read them yet.

Since 2009 is the 200 birthday, it makes sense to read a Lincoln bio before the year is out. I like to read A. Lincoln: A Biography, White's new one.

I like that idea. I'm in.

I have read "Team of Rivals," but have been wanting to read it again.

2143351 I can put together a Lincoln poll for us to choose.
