List 2 or 3 books that you've read that show hope for the human race and therefore the other critters too!
The Ghost Map The Story of London's Most Terrifying Epidemic--and How It Changed Science, Cities, and the Modern World by Steven Johnson.
It isn't just about a cholera epidemic in London, it's about how modern sanitation innovations have made living in cities possible. And it turns out, living in cities is the most ecological way for big populations TO live.
The 1st two that jump into my mind are The Man Who Planted Trees by Jean Giono and Gaviotas: A Village to Reinvent the World by Alan Weisman...of course most of the poetry of Mary Oliver!
The Hiding Place, by Corrie ten BoomPeace Pilgrim, by Peace Pilgrim
I love these books. They're about no-holds-barred faith. I mean, if you're going to believe, why do it halfway?
The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield
I'm reading this and the Tenth Insight and it resonates with me and gives me hope that there is a future with highly evolved humans, and my soul could be back to take part. That gives me joy, too.
This is a great question. I have to think about it a little more. But Aristotle's Ethics comes to mind...
