at work last night. I like it a lot so far, it pretty much drew me in with the first chapter. I can't remember ever reading a book with mermaids either so this should be nice and different.

Welcome Cathiecaffey!
Hope you'll enjoy our challenges.
I've only read Love Potion of Sandra Hill so far, but I would definitely want to read the rest of the series.

The Cajun Cowboy was my favorite in the series. I still haven't read the Jinx series yet.
I just joined in here! I like to have some challenges to read more as well as chat about them. I'm reading my 3rd book of Sandra Hill's Cajun series. I read SO INTO YOU and loved it and went back and read the first book THE LOVE POTION and now on a third book in this related Cajun series of TALL, DARK AND CAJUN. I'm picky when it comes to reading contemp (and RS) romance. I prefer them to sizzle more, and hers so do that! So I love when I find an author who has it all in their books! These make me laugh and cry too! I know after this one, I'll be heading towards a historical since I rotate what I read but these were so good I couldn't help reading 3 of her books this month!
Reading Sucker Bet by Erin McCarthy - my last RRR reading challenge book for the month - I'm sure I'll finish all my challenges this month, if I don't spend too much time here, that is.
We miss you, too, Lori, although I've figured out your got busy with your new group. Happy to see you posting again.
I'm reading M/M romance now exclusively so haven't posted as much here as I have in the M/M Romance group. I miss you guys! I'm planning on starting Second Sight by Sean Michael today.
I just finished Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon, next I'll be reading It's In His Kiss by Julia Quinn.
Currently I am:Re-reading Halfway to the Grave. Tonight I read Bound and Determined by Shelley Bradley and Beyond the Highland Mist by Karen Marie Moning. I really love Shayla Black's [Shelley Bradley:] writing and though the heroine is a little dim I am enjoying the story and Rafe's reaction to her 'sweet little body'. This is my first KMM novel and I am enjoying how she is building the world of her Highlanders. Again the heroine is a bit of a 'needs a slap' but the story overpowers these little character flaws.
I've just joined the Cat and Bones train and am halfway through Halfway to the grave. Absolutley loving it! (Have rung work to reserve the next 2!!!)
I just finished reading Come Back to Me by Lisa Marie Davis. I'm starting The Devil You Know by Angela Fiddler.
I decided I needed something a little more lighthearted and fluffy than The Magicians A Novel, which I'm finally almost done with, so I started
. It's hilarious! This is so fun and it kind of reminds me of the early Betsy books, except Jane is smart and not annoying.I'm also reading Magic Lost, Trouble Found and Parallel Attraction but I think I'm going to stay with Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs for a while; it's such a quick read that I'll probably have it read it a day or two.
I do that too, I change the tone of each book to vary. And I'm reading something breezy right now as well - Something Borrowed. (Really digging it!!!)
After finishing The Book Thief and finding myself EMOTIONALLY tapped, I moved on to Sweet Talk by Susan Mallery. SUPER quick, light and fluffy read and not too bad. Pretty much what I needed after my last. hehe
I started
a couple days ago and I don't know if I'm just not in the mood for an elves and goblins fantasy book or if it's just boring. I'm gonna try hard to stick with it though. Anybody else read this series?

This has been a compelling read but so emotion-filled, I had to put it down occasionally but found myself drawn back to it to read/experience some more.
I also was drawn into the Rudy-Liesel friendship and activities, but my love is Papa - what a guy!!
Kasia: Rudy is AMAZING!!! I love the relationship between him and Liesel. It feels so genuine.
BJ: I know what you mean. I'd seen this at the store a while back and I'd heard good things about it, but I'm always hesitant. Sometimes my tastes don't jive with the masses. *LoL* But I'm loving it so far. :^D
Sometimes bookstores get books early. I got Passion Unleashed before the release date. If they get it at the store early (and don't have instructions to wait) they can sell it. I love the Dark Hunter series! B/c I read so many books at once, re-reading Fantasy Lover is taking a while but I love the re-read regardless of time.
Emily wrote: "I'm about halfway through The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and I'm completely mesmerized by it!"I've read it in March, and I still haven't gotten over Rudy. I'm so in love with that kid!!!
Shazzy wrote: "Kasia, my sister ordered it from The Book Depository. I don't know why it came so early! But i'm not complaining!!"I wouldn't be complaining either!
I'm just about halfway through with Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I can't believe I've waited this long to start this series.
Kasia, my sister ordered it from The Book Depository. I don't know why it came so early! But i'm not complaining!!
I'm about 1/4 of the way through
- it's a cross between Harry Potter and Narnia, but more adult. Lots of alcohol and f-bombs thrown around so it's definitely not for kids. And even though this is very heavily influenced but the two aforementioned works, it doesn't necessarily feel like a rip-off, it's more of an homage if anything.I'm definitely enjoying it though.
I'm also still working on
, which I have to say is a lot better than the first.
I'm reading You Don't Know Jack by Erin McCarthy. I'm trying to decide if it's going to be a good one or not.:-)
I'm reading Braided by Sean Michael, one of the Velvet Glove books and An Inner Darkness by Ally Blue.
Stacey: I most definately look forward to reading the Nightwalkers series. I listed it as a "to read" and an author even said he liked it and I should read it. What a push huh? Hehe. As for Bloodrunners I have read Book1 and part of Book2. What I like about it is that she makes the heroes very Alpha and the females are strong enough to hold their own. They still "melt" on occasion. But damn if I wouldn't by the way Rhyannon Byrd describes them. Right? The shifter world she creates is interesting as well. So u have the sparking chemistry and interesting plot to follow.
I hadn't noticed the repetition but like u said it may be more noticeable if u read them back to back.

Did you notice if Rhyannon used a lot of the same descriptions of her males in each of her Nocturne books? I noticed in each of The Primal Instinct ones that it was repetitive between books. I still really liked the series that was just distracting. (it could also be that I read the books in one weekend trip)
I was just wondering how you liked the Bloodrunners trilogy?
I also just ordered her Ellora's Cave title "Waiting for It". It's not my normal pick of paranormal romance, but what heck! It looked steamy.

I just finished yesterday and I thought it was good. I kept gettin distracted at first so I was getting worried I wouldn't be able to get into, but as I got into the second chapter it picked up. I hope you give them a try. I'm onto Gideon now!!
Stacey wrote: "I'm currently reading Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalkers. I;m on Jacob, just started."I just got Jacob from a friend. I heard good things about this series. I rented one from the Library but knew I's want a personal copy.

I first read her Bloodrunners series from Nocturne and was surprised that an author could write with such captivation. Most of these romance "lines" are very formulaic but Rhyannon Byrd is giving me second thoughts about looking into other series in the Nocturne line as well as more from her!
Sarah wrote: "Stacey wrote: "By the way what do you think of Erin McCarthy? I've had her on my "to buy" list for a while. I just can't decide to go ahead and buy them.

I just finished this one a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. I'm used to her light, sexy, funny writing so this was a nice change. Hope you like how it all turns out!
Barbara wrote: "Just finished The Last of the Red-Hot Vampires which was rather boring. The ending was ok but not worth the reading."
I was NOT happy with that one either. What's up with Katie MacAlister? I read the one after that I was even more upset because it was a sort of to be continued. I barely made it through the one book, so I'm thinking how am I going to read yet another just to see how this all plays out? I'm glad I'm not the only one, because I really liked the first few "Dark Ones" books by her.
Just finished The Last of the Red-Hot Vampires which was rather boring. The ending was ok but not worth the reading.
