Pumpernickel, they are located in the folder titled "Group Read Discussions".. a few folders below this one... you should find them easily. JG is correct, one for spoilers, and one without!
We have a one thread for spoilers and one thread without. They should be somewhere in our group read folder.
Lori,
I couldn't come here for the past week BUT I have started reading Rebecca, have been reading Chapter 10 now and there are some things I wanna discuss. I have tried to find this , but I could not. Have you divided the book into chapters so we can discuss it, or you simply post 'with spoilers' or 'without' ? thanks !
I have to say that I haven't been overly active in this group but i do read the threads and like the new layout! Great Job Lori! I like your group picture too!
http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1543...Hmmm...guess its a good thing I changed our group photo/logo... someone else is using it.. that could have been very confusing!!
To be honest, The folders are limited to how long the title can be. I wont be able to fit all that. I think I am just going to address each "non active" member one by one... to see if we cant deter this....
Looks great, Lori! While you're renaming/rearranging, do you think it would cut down on any spam to rename the one folder to "Active Members: Promote Your Site/Stuff Here"? Or are we generally agreed that a spammer is a spammer and no amount of renaming will deter them?
Lori, I LOVE it! I may have to hunt for a thread or two, but on the whole this system makes much more sense :)

Revive a Dead Thread ???"
That sounds good. Kind of a challenge to get them going again as well. :)

take some lessons...
hehe, kidding :)
Thank You so much, Lori, for making this painless so that even computer illiterate, newcomers like me can manage to manuever around!!!
I've actually become rather daring, and have visited more than 3 threads recently ... wow!!!
Seriously, everything looks and works great!!!
Jeez, it's like a supermarket always changing the goods around so you can't find them anymore...only kidding Lori, I think it looks a lot better. You do a good job organising such a huge group without letting it become a Runaway Group.
Well done!
Looks good Lori. One suggestion; the name of the Long Dead topic might lead some to think the threads there are to remain dead if they just peruse the topics and don't read your rules above.
Thanks for all the work you put into making this the best place to be when books and reading are the topic.
I like no one posting in the general thread but you especially, because it seems like everybody just starts their new threads there without looking to see if they'd be better some place else.
Now they have to look around first! ha!
So some of you may be wondering what happened to the layout and titles of the threads. Please Don't Panic!
I have just finished updating the group page a little to make it easier, I hope, for us to create topics and find the correct folder to place it in.
I will no longer be using the General folder, outside of notices like these (which are not really deemed Rules or Important Announcements) and the monthly nomination and voting rounds.
As a member, if you are going to post a new thread, please follow these simple rules as you do so:
- Check the boards for a thread that is similar to the topic you wish to discuss. To cut down on the number of repetitive threads, I would rather see us breathe new life into an older one by simply posting to it, and reviving the discussion that way.
- If you are creating a new topic, having checked the boards and found no thread similar to your topic, please post it in the corrosponding folder:
for example:
If it is about a certain book you read and you want to discuss it, it would be placed into the "Wanna Discuss This Book" folder.
If it is a question about how the group works, or locating a certain topic, it would be placed into the "Questions About The Group" folder.
If you are unsure of which folder to place it in, leave the folder blank. It will automatically be sent to the "General" folder and I will move it to the proper folder for you.
- If you are new to the group, and are an author, writer, blogger, moderator for another group, radio personality.. etc... please contact me by sending me a message before you post a new thread about your books, writings, blogs, groups, radio shows.. etc..
and also check out the Rules for posting those types of threads under the "Rules/ Important Announcements" folder.
- No one is to post in the "Rules/ Important Annoucements" folder except me. This folder is where I will be posting my rules and guidelines for the group. I would like to stress that these rules and guidelines are MINE, and do not apply to any other group besides The Next Best Book Club. I do not speak for Otis, Goodreads, or any other moderator in any other group.
Thanks guys, and let me know what you think of the changes. Are they better, more confusing? I'm open to suggestions and feedback to improving the look and feel.
