The Southern Festival of Books (in Nashville again this year) has posted the confirmed author list for the October 9-11 2009 event. As a mystery thriller lover I could always wish for more of my favorite authors, but as a free Literary Festival the list of authors is always impressive.

I look forward to seeing Charlie Huston, Jan Burke, Elizabeth Berg, Buzz Aldrin and Robert Hicks among others. I hope to anyway. I am often frustrated by scheduling conflicts that will put two favorites on a panel or event at the same time.
Karen White is going to be there too. She wrote The House on Tradd Street along with The Lost Hours.
I haven't read the last one, only the Tradd Street, but enjoyed it a lot.
Gail:
Ahhh, those do look good! Thanks!

The House on Tradd Street and The Lost Hours .."
Today is the day we'll attend the Southern Festival of Books - DD and I are leaving for the event now.
I am eager to have a book filled day! We aren't going to a specific sessions except for our current plans to see Robert Hicks: The Widow of the South and Buzz Aldrin

Have fun Ann!!
We had a good time! The weather wasn't perfect with puddles all around the plaza from morning rain and a chilly breeze with overcast skies - but we had books and authors and my favorite fall event was back in Nashville.
It seems we always have a home Preds game on the Saturday preventing me from some later afternoon events I wanted to see (Charlie Huston), and I missed the Friday headliners since I don't work in the downtown area anymore (Jan Burke) but it was great to squeeze in the authors we saw. This sort of festival is not a big draw for major MT authors, but there were several there for Sisters in Crime and I missed that session too unfortunately.
I enjoyed seeing Robert Hicks and got him to sign my copy of A Separate Country and we saw Kate DiCamillo The Tale of Despereaux Being the Story of a Mouse, a Princess, Some Soup and a Spool of Thread and we saw Buzz Aldrin, a bit of a disappointment. I'll just say he made an entrance 15 minutes late and we had secured seats rather early, his talk got a little political and off on a tangent, and I was not as impressed as I expected to be. I'll read the book. I had already bought it to be ready for the signing line.
