Wow, I forgot about Rumpelstiltskin! I used to love it! :)
Forgot to add:
The Little Lame Prince and the super popular (for me anyway--my copy is in tatters from when I was 4!) Thumbelina.

I never read the book Thumbelina, but I loved the movie!
I didn't know there was a movie (?) lol! Thumbelina has the prince you see so I fell in love with him from the start --A Child's Pre-Introduction to the Romance Novel (lol!)

There are a few movies based on the book, but this was my favorite! :) You should def. see it!
The Phantom Tollbooth was my favorite! I like the length and pacing.
The Complete Tales by Beatrix Potter was another favorite.
Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham.
OMG of course NU! "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"! And "Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator"! How in the world could I foget those! I'll also add "Alice in Wonderland" :D
The Phantom Tollbooth was my all time fave too!
Loved all the Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing books and all the Ramona books.
Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH
Charlotte's Web
I liked "Charlotte's Web" too and "The Secret of Nimh" (can't believe I forgot that one!).
There's also:
How to Eat Fried Worms (very gross!)
Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang (that was hilarious!)
Stone Fox (very sad)
Anne of Green GablesThe Secret Garden
A Little Princess
Green Eggs and Ham
The Poky Little Puppy
Amelia Bedelia
Tikki Tikki Tembo
I also read all the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books.
LOL! The Poky Puppy! That was so cute. And Amelia Bedelia was so fun. I liked Anne of Green Gables too and the Little House on the Prairie series when I was older. I think I have to make a kiddie fave shelf ;)
Do you guys remember the Roger Hargreaves books? The Mr. and Miss books? Mr. Happy, Little Miss Bossy, etc. I used to love those, LOL. I think I liked structure even then.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-Roald DahlThe Black Stallion-Walter Farley
Black Beauty-Anna Sewell
Follow My Leader-James Garfield
NU those were too cute. I bought the sets for friends with kids (lol!)
And look some more good ones: Black Beauty and The Black Stallion --that was an excellent book!
CorduroyThe Velveteen Rabbit
The Giving Tree
Where the Sidewalk Ends
Green Eggs and Ham
The Poky Little Puppy
Rikki-Tikki-Tavi
The Lorax
Seven Little Australians
That's all I can think of. The Giving Tree still gets to me. Consider that a warning if you haven't read it before and decide to pick it up. It may or may not have made me cry a few times. I'm not telling.
All of the American Girls Books! I have Felicity and her friend Elizabeth. My fiance thinks they're creepy and they watch him! Dr. Seuss. Anne of Green Gables. There's just too many to count!
Favorites: Dr. Seuss, Where the Wild Things Are, "Tiki, Tiki, Tembo...", "Clifford"... wow, I'm realizing that some of the same books I read as a kid are now the ones that my own kids are reading. One of their new faves: "Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy" by Tina Turbin at www.dannythedragon.com

I had NO idea this was a book! My husband LOVES this movie and makes us watch it when it's on tv at the holidays. I'm so going to have to buy this book for him now, which will be an even bigger joke since he hates to read. Now to track down a copy!
