ROFLOL ... I have had a couple of people ask me if I'm quitting my day job now that the book is out. When I tell them that my first royalty check was $14.32, they stop asking.
Judging by some of the comments I hear, yes. Which astounds me... she says, shoving a diamond tiara onto a mound of glittering emeralds beneath her desk.
I have to say, seeing one's name on a book cover is pretty cool. But wow! Do people really believe writers are all sitting on piles of money?
I like the part about writers having more chance of becoming a US senator than getting on the bestseller list. These days, so many people seem to ask me how they can become a writer... saying that they want to see their name on a book cover and make lots of money. I have a go at grabbing their ankles and yanking them back down to earth, but it rarely works.

Fantastic Sharon. Will give it a look. Need all the advice I can get!
Hi, everyone.
Stephen Coonts has been one of my favorite authors since a long-ago former boyfriend (a Naval aviator) introduced me to "Final Flight."
I decided to check out his website for the first time today and found an absolute gem: http://www.coonts.com/tips_for_writers.h... . IMO, this is some really solid advice. Now, since this was posted a number of things have happened (there are more than four Harry Potter books, just for a start), but there is a lot of wisdom to consider from the author of numerous best-sellers.
Enjoy!
