What I'm Also Reading >
What are you also reading in July?
So far this month I plan on reading:Thinner
Lock and Key (currently reading)

At the moment I am reading the 7th Harry Potter book:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Since it is the last one, I am reading it slowly.
I will read:
Max
The Last Olympian
My Gal Sunday
Shoot the moon
Snow Falling on Cedars
The Cat Who Smelled a Rat
...And probably others
After waiting months to get my hands on Glass I finally have a chance to read it!
Also reading:
Bliss
The Warrior Heir
The Battle of the Labyrinth
The Last Olympian
The Forest of Hands and Teeth
. . . and more. Hopefully.
I Capture the Castle
The Reformed Vampire Support Group
The Alchemyst
The whole Uglies series
The Shining
The Dust of 100 Dogs
Book of A Thousand Days
Gosh, hopefully something.I'm trying to read Jitterbug Perfume for my book club
and I want to reread The Hunger Games for an August online discussion and before Catching Fire comes out 9/1 as I read it a year ago and I need to refresh my memory, plus I'd like to enjoy it again.
Hopefully at least a couple of other books but I don't know which yet.
Maybe I'll get to Lock and Key.
So far in July I have read:
Total Constant Order by Crissa Jean Chappell
The Curse of Addy McMahon by Katie Davis
Beastly by Finn
Steinbeck's Ghost by Lewis Buzbee
I am currently reading The Unameables by Booraem
I have Savvy by Ingrid Law
The Girl who could fly byVictoria Forester
Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carman for this weekend
Books I've also read this month:
Greetings from Nowhere by O'Connor
The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Kelly
Ghostgirl by Hurley
Darkwood by Breen
The House of Power by Carman
Incantation by Hoffman
Changeling by Sherman
I've been reading:
1. Magic or Madness trilogy - I've read two of the three and so far it's just OK for me, a filler book while I wait for something I really want to read.
2. Replay - I'm almost done with this one, I must warn you there is explicit sex in this one, be very cautious. The story is interesting, about a guy who keeps "replaying" his life while still retaining all of his memories from previous lives but you have to kind of skim the crappy parts. I'm not sure I'd ever recommend this book for that reason. My brother-in-law recommended it but also warned about the sex.
3. Graceling - I'm very excited to read this one, finally got it from the huge waiting list at the library. Unfortunately my husband snagged it first so I'll have to finish Replay before I get into that one.

I really liked The Girl Who Could Fly, it was very different but with a good message -- it even made me cry, which was unexpected.
I was extremely lazy last month so I'm going to try and read all of these:Red Dragon by Thomas Harris
Max by James Patterson
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets J.K. Rowling
Beach Road - James Patterson
Graceling - Kristin Cashore
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - Mark Twain
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court - Mark Twain
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - Mark Twain
I'm going to try to read the following this month:The Chronicles of Narnia - C.S Lewis

I just finished 'The Unnameabless" by Ellen Booraem, and highly recommend it. It's one of those alternate society stories about an island where people are named for what they do and everything must have a use. Main character doesn't quite fit the mold, of course. You'll like it if you liked The Giver or Truesight. Five stars from me.

I LOVE dystopian society books!!! I really enjoyed The Giver but I haven't heard of the other two. Thanks for the recommendations, they are now on my to-read list.
This month I plan on reading:A Child Called "It" One Child's Courage to Survive
Poison Study
Posh
Looking for Alaska
And more, I just can't remember right now!

This month I'm reading:
I have six books to read before July 31st (reading challenge) but I don't think I will make it:
The Remarkable Life and Times of Eliza Rose
Hunger Games
Evermore
Gingerbread
Bewitching Season
The Absolute True Diary of a Part-Time Indian

Poison study is so good :-) I hope you enjoy it! How was Wintergirls?
Cameron, go to this thread and see what we are saying about the Mortal Instruments ending:

I just finished Paper Towns and Thirteen Little Blue Envelopes. I am thinking about reading the first of the Georgia Nicholson series or back to I Capture the Castle.

How was Paper Towns.. I keep checking the library for that one...
I love John Green and I have read all his books. An Abundance of Katherines is one of my favorite YA books. Looking for Alaska is well written, but I found depressing. Paper Towns was in between those two books. The characters were realistic to me and I always appreciate how he has strong female characters who "encourage" the male characters to mature. I also like his endings--he leaves it to your imagination. If you have never read John Green, I would read Paper Towns first and then An Abundance of Katherines--not related books, but I think I would have liked Paper Towns more if I hadn't read Katherines. Looking for Alaska is dark.

I have read Looking For Alaska and really would like to read Paper Towns next. Thanks for the info!
Updated July reads:I also had Gingerbread on the list but I switched it out with The Boy From the Basement
Angie wrote: "I am planning on reading Evermore too! Hope it's good. "
I hope so, too! I heard mixed reviews. One person said it was just okay and another said they couldn't put it down. So, I guess we'll see!

Paper Towns was wonderful. A bit like "Looking for Alaska," but different enough to be enjoyable.
I am reading 13 Little Blue Envelopes right now. It's not too bad so far. I am also reading Blue Moon. It's not as good as the first IMO.
Ive read blue moon i didnt like the start but towards the end it got better and am i the only one that thinks summerland is tacky
So far this month I've read: Such a Pretty Girl
Wicked Lovely
Ink Exchange
This Lullaby
Living Dead Girl
A Certain Slant of Light
Tithe (reread)
Ironside
Currently reading: Willow
Jo wrote: "Did you like a certain slant of light? I loved it "Yea, it was pretty good. Not what I expected when I bought it though.
I thought it was more YA, but the characters were much older ghosts who were in teen bodies. It was a good change from what I expected, I thought it was going to be a darker ghost story but it was pretty mild.
Well I just finished Catching Fire, and Girl in the Arena(I dont recommend the second unless you have the patience of a saint).Next is Savvy by Ingrid Law. Sucks to be me by Kimberly Pauley, Beautiful Creatures Kami Garcia, blue moon and evermore by alyson noel and finally Violet Wings by victoria hanley...with the objective to avoid any book stores, libraries or any of the advance reader copies in the mail because I already have several more on the list to read and I dont need to add more.

How was The Alchemyst...I have a digital copy and I dont like reading on a screen but if its good I will.
Ive read blue moon and evermore. I liked evermore better and blue moon was good but it was a bit slow starting, worth reading just for the ending really

Thanks for the heads up.
I've read these so far:
Cheated
Rash
The Forest of Hands and Teeth
Number 8
Poison Ink
Glass
I Capture the Castle
I really liked The Forest of Hands and Teeth and I Capture the Castle. Other than that, I was pretty disappointed with this month's reads. =(
