1518370 For August, as we did in the past 2 months, we will be reading 2 books. You are only able to nominate for one category. We will be having our "regular" fiction/non-fiction category (category 1) where you can nominate anything and then our "themed" category (category 2). The theme for the month of August is Young Adult..since most people will be going back to school..it might be a nice way to wrap up the summer!

Guidelines for Nominations:

-Only one nomination per person and you must choose one category.
-Please specify which category you are nominating for. The Themed category is always category 2. Your post should look something like this:
Category 1: "This Book" by An Author
- Please make sure you have the book and author in your nomination
- If you have nominated the same book more than 2 times and it has only ever received one or two votes..please try and pick another book! :)
-We will be taking the first 12 nominations for each category or we will close nominations on July 8th if not all categories are filled.
-Voting will begin soon after nominations are done and will be open for a week.
- If your books wins..please let us know whether or not you would like to lead the book discussion.

As always, if you have any questions about the process, please feel free to message Lori or myself!

1524777 Ooh what a lovely thing to see before I go to work! :)

Category 1: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

1876124 Category 2: Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones.

Because it is very discussable and I think the ending needs to be talked about. Ooh, but there are SO many good YA that might not be great for discussion, but are excellent for reading! Anything chosen I'm sure will be well-worth reading.

1852584 I'd love to nominate The Espressologist but it won't be released until OCTOBER ..ugh.. :P I want to read it! I used to work at a coffee shop, so I can relate to some of the humor and stuff in her book's description... plus it's loosely based on Jane Austen's Emma, so.... could be good!

Instead, I'll nominate Julie and Julia My Year of Cooking Dangerously by Julie Powell for Category 1. The movie's coming out next month, too.
