When He Was Wicked-Julia Quinn
Ravished-Virginia Henley
Fire at Midnight-Lisa Marie Wilkinson
Elizabeth Hoyt
I don't think I've ever read 10 historical romances ... do John Jakes' Kent Family Chronicle's Count?
I also read Chesapeake and Centennial by James Michener. They are definitely historical, and did involve a lot of interrelationships between families over 200 years or so. (okay, Centennial kind of starts with "First the Earth Cooled" so that covers a lot more time. I guess Chesapeake did the same thing, because I remember a lot of the Geomorphology of the Chesapeake Bay being part of the story).
*bows to the master*
Man, I wish I could do that. That's my dream right now. To take a long vacation in a tropical place with time to read in peace. I don't see that happening anytime soon though. lol.
I actually read more than 150 books this year... Remember, I ditched my buy-no-new-books resolution sometime along the way, LOL. I'm a fast reader and I'm still enjoying my sabbatical, so I've been living the life of the gods. ;)
Wow, do you mean you read 150 books? If so that's amazing!
This year I discovered library book sales. Bad, bad discovery. lol.
I had more than 300 books collecting dust on my TBR when I made my resolution last year. I've "slaved" myself and managed to get it down to around 150 now - oh, what a chore it was, LOL! - so I guess I've been a "good girl" this year. We shall see if Santa agrees... ;)

I didn't have enough books to make that resolution this year, but I'm definitely going to have to make it for next year. I've acquired one too many books in 2009. lol.

Verity wrote: "Hahahaa... but then U'll have to break your buy-no-new-book resolution."You're evil!! But wait - when did I make such a ridiculous resolution? Must have been in a different dimension!! Besides, I won credits for 2 new books in a recent Count-off Challenge, so I'm good-to-go!

Then I guess I know what I have to do!!!
Verity wrote: "U're gonna luv MD, BJR. Whatcha waiting for ? Sprint to the nearest bookstore. She's worth every penny =^2"I totally agree, Verity. Not many debut authors can rock the genre like she did with Duke of Shadows.

I wish I'd known that before. Tried a Western of hers first. :/ I'll make sure the next is a Scoundrels book. :D
Verity wrote: "BJR, that's so funny that U named all except 2 (Julia Quinn - I like but don't luv her. Lorraine Heath - not too keen on westerns) authors that are my favs =)~"Good for us, Verity!!
Heath's westerns were just ok, but it's her Scoundrels of St. James series that I love. Julia Quinn's in there for the fun stuff in her stories.

Aww - Without a doubt this is my favorite romance genre:
1. Judith Ivory (a/k/a Judy Cuevas)

3. Julia Quinn
4. Judith McNaught
5. Mary Balogh

Toughy - I know that Hoyt should be higher because I loved every one of her books I've read so far, but I've only read her "Prince" series. We'll see after I read the ones on my TBR. Plus, I have LOVED Julie Anne Long's last two books . . . again, we'll see if she continues to pan out! :)
Oww! Had to edit to add Pamela Clare - She also could become a complete favorite (any genre). I've LOVED both the books I've read by her as well!
