Why are there three different notebooks in this novel? What makes each notebook
special or distinct? What did you think of the way I Capture the Castle
was told? Did it make the story easier or more fun to read—or otherwise more
enjoyable? How did the form of this novel influence your impression of
Cassandra? How did it affect your take on all the other characters?
I love how the story is told! I love the narrator being Cassandra! I thought that it made the story fun to read and unique compared to other classics. I think that since the novel is written from Cassandra's point of view that we really get to know her and she is my favorite character. The three notebooks I think show Cassandra in three different mature sections of her life. Even though they are only months apart. I think she grows in each notebook. Plus each notebook has different meaning to her. The final notebook being a fancy notebook.
Makes me wish I kept a journal better then I do. Does anyone here keep a journal? How often do you write in it? Do you prefer a certain type of book to use?
I haven't done one in recent years. The year that I was most dedicated I used one that was a devotional, but left room for writing. It was dated (Month and date) not year so it could be started at any time. In recent years I have started and stopped with journals~more stopping than starting :)
