1113032 I started Bengal's Heartby Lora Leigh. I found it a few days earlier than the release date at Barnes and Noble. So far, so good.

593685 I finished Dark Victory and it was OK. Now I'm reading Faefever, I only have a few more pages, but I just can't finish until Dreamfever comes out on Aug. 18. I'm not happy with the way it ends for Mac, so if I can go from Faefever right into Dreamfever I think I can deal with it better. I'm not good with unhappy endings lol............... Until Aug. 18th, I'm reading Beauty and The Beast by Hannah Howell.

1339156 I'm reading Diving in Deep. This is the first book I've read by this author but it won't be the last. Really good.

2191417 Im reading Wild Baron by Catherine Coulter. I went crazy and suddenly needed a break from PNR. Just started reading them today.

1113032 I'm reading (trying to read) Ross' High Risk series...

Although, Lora Leigh's Bengal's Heart was out at B&N today so I grabbed that...might switch to that one.

message 125: by Melissa (new)

325271 Reading You're the One that I Haunt by Terri Garey. If, I mean WHEN, I finish I will have completed all my challenges this month! Yay, me!

This is the third in the series and it just keeps getting better. This has the devil (literally, The Devil) opening a record store across the street from the main characters vintage clothing shop just to make life more difficult. I can't wait to see how this all plays out!

message 124: by Moderatrix Lori (new)

1339156 Reading Jet Mykles' newest in the Heaven Sent series, Revelations. While not as good as the rest of the books, still enjoying it.

message 123: by Cassandra (new)

1795990 Right now I'm not reading a book. But the book that I just finished wasd Night World No. 2

1895628 Are you liking Odd Thomas? I've got it kicking around here somewhere. Was thinking of reading it for my O book title for A-Z challenge.

message 108: by Kasia, Tender Barbarian (new)

1504904 PS. I'm impressed that you've managed to decipher touching from toughing! LOL

message 107: by Kasia, Tender Barbarian (new)

1504904 Oh that's touching. My spelling. As always.

I don't remember that now, details escape me... Dumblydore... so cute!

message 106: by Briansgirl "Master Book Sale Huntress" (last edited Jul 22, 2009 10:15PM) (new)

1895628 You spelled his name correctly, but misspelled "touching". lol I just used his nickname before. Madam Maxime, Headmistress of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic always called him Dumblydore.

message 105: by Kasia, Tender Barbarian (new)

1504904 Kate, I love to have a good cry from time to time! And the Dumbledore thing was toughing! (I think I just misspelled his name)

message 104: by Kasia, Tender Barbarian (new)

1504904 Hang on there LibraryLass and don't despair. Reading breaks are healthy from time to time.

1895628 Kasia wrote: "Just enjoy it, Potter books are like no other, I loved each and every one of them."

I cried again pitifully when Dumbly died and his funeral. Hard to read when your glasses are tear streaked. lol

message 102: by LibraryLass (new)

882302 I haven't read a book in 12 days!!!

message 101: by Kasia, Tender Barbarian (new)

1504904 Just enjoy it, Potter books are like no other, I loved each and every one of them.

1895628 Do you? lol Thing is these Harry Potter novels are 600-700+ pages... so they aren't quick. Not like reading a thin harlequin in a day. However, I'm enjoying reading them enough.. if I don't finish all challenges this month... oh well. lol Won't be the first time. lol

message 99: by Kasia, Tender Barbarian (new)

1504904 I'm sure you'll fit it in somehow, I have faith in you! LMAO

1895628 So many folks have read the Harry Potter books, could somebody please add them to the groups bookshelf. :) Only book 1 is listed. I'm reading book 6 now to fill the category to reread a favorite. I'd like to read book 7 next (for my X character for A-Z challenge) and would love for it to fill the July category of reading a book off the groups bookshelves to help. (Rather hate to add it myself, lol, even though I've read it before as that feels like cheating.) However, when I compare books with all the birthday girls every month I notice most have read the series. I'm sure somebody's read it since joining the group. Please.... lol I'm going to read it next (Deathly Hallows) wether it fits a category or not, but if would help if it fit another one. :)

message 97: by BJ Rose (new)

2030200 I'm working almost completely on challenge books, and may actually finish some of the July challenges:

Just finished today Woman in White - Summer Challenge & July Romance Challenge
1/4 of the way through Yiddish Policemen's Union - Summer Challenge & Read-the-Month
Just started listening to 1984 - Summer Challenge
Starting this afternoon Darkfever - Paranormal Challenge

message 96: by Ann (new)

593685 I finished Castle of the Wolf by Sandra Schwab, and now I'm going to start BloodFever.

1339156 Finished the Deviations series and wow...so good. Can't wait for the next one. Currently reading On Fire II, the last of my challenge books. I loved the first book and this one is proving to be almost as good.

message 94: by Shazzy (new)

1034664 I'm halfway through Passion by Louise Bagshawe. I'm starting Grimspace tonight.

message 93: by Ann (new)

593685 I finished Legend by Suzanne Robinson and also re-read Desire by Amanda Quick, they were both for July challenges; I'm now reading Castle of the wolf by Sandra Schwab.

message 92: by Briansgirl "Master Book Sale Huntress" (last edited Jul 19, 2009 06:16PM) (new)

1895628 lol Melissa. I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't "get" this series. It amazes me that a teacher would read the entire series outloud to her students. Not only does "inappropriate content" scream out at me, lol, but by 5th grade they are more than old enough to read them themselves and have a class discussion on what they've read. I thought suffering through one was bad enough. lol I'm not going to read any more. My oldest at 12 tried to read book 7 as it's all he could find over the summer at his father's house to read and said he doesn't understand it at all. Once he gets home he asked to reread the entire Harry Potter series.

1895628 I decided to re-read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows after watching the movie this weekend. (It also fits the reread a favorite category for the July monthly challenge. Although it's not exactly a short book at 652 pages.)

2191417 Just finished Demonica Series this week. Im starting on the Dark Fever by Moning.

I hated those books too! My two oldest have heard them all! Their 5th grade teacher read the whole series out loud during the entire school year and I can't for the life of me understand how they are his favorite books. I am truly dumber for having read them. I think I made it through 6 hoping I'd "get it".

message 86: by Sarah (new)

279845 I'm a couple hundred pages into Lover Avenged.

message 85: by Jodz (new)

1454271 It's been a while since i've been on here or picked up a book for that matter since we moved house!

But I'm reading definitely dead... Ive devoured 6 books in 4 days... I missed reading so much and sookie is just awesome!

1339156 I'm totally off my challenge books this weekend because I've become hooked on a series that is so good, I must read every book...right now. Thanks Jen. I'm currently reading Deviations Domination, the second book in the series by Chris Owen. I adore everything Chris writes and these are certainly no exception. Definitely not everyone's cuppa but if you're into gay BDSM these books rock.

1910173 I'm curremtly reading Lover Avenged. I really like it so far, but I'm finding myself more intrested in JM and Xhex's storyline than Rehv and Ehlena's :/ Lash just irritates me, he's like a 7yo villain...

message 82: by Kenjii (last edited Jul 18, 2009 06:11AM) (new)

1125077 I started Dying to Live by Kim Paffenroth after finishing Cabal by .Clive Barker

message 81: by Briansgirl "Master Book Sale Huntress" (last edited Jul 17, 2009 07:50PM) (new)

1895628 oh lord. I havn't read anything this awful in ages. Blah! It left a bad taste in my mouth! lol I just finished reading The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket, book 1 in The Series of Unfortunate Events series. It's so terrible, I'm tossing what I have of the entire set (7 of the 9 books) in the garage sale box to get rid of it so my children won't read them. It's a horridly rewritten version of Cinderella of sorts. The opening paragraph of the book is absolutely correct...

"If you are interested in stories with happy endings, you would be better off reading some other book. In this book, not only is there no happy ending, there is no happy beginning and very few happy things in the middle. This is because not very many happy things happened in the lives of the three ... Read MoreBaudelaire youngesters. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire were intelligent children, and they were charming, and resourceful, and had pleasant facial features, but they were extremely unlucky, and most everything that happened to them was rife with misfortune, misery, and dispair. I'm sorry to tell you this, but that is how the story goes."

At least... It filled the YA category of the July monthly challenge, and filled the V character in the A-Z character challenge for Violet. I'd rather get the few hours back I wasted on the book. lol
