1064739 Here's an interview with China Mieville about his book Un Lun Dun:

145699 I haven't had a chance to look at the interview but is anyone else finished with the book?

I'd call my overall reaction "a pleasant surprise". (This was my first book by Mieville.) What did other folks think?

1605591 I loved it. I loved the fact that heroine is "dark" but otherwise race neutral. I love the whole play on words.

1165752 I enjoyed this book very much. This was also my first book by Mieville and it was a pleasure to read.

112377 I liked it, too! It reminded me of children's books like the The Phantom Tollbooth and Alice in Wonderland and also a bit of Gaiman's Neverwhere. And thanks for sharing the interview--it was very interesting!

145699 One of the things I learned reading this is that I don't think I have the tolerance for kids' books that I might have had as a child. I felt like the first 50 or so pages of the book were just a series of unexplained wonders and for a while that was wonderful, but after that, I kept trying to see patterns and failed. Anyone else?

87427 I want to be a bookaneer. I admit to some boredom with envrionmental messages though. I can't imagine the YA crowd isn't equally as bored. However, I found it imaginive enough to overlook that aggravation. I so want to be a bookaneer.
