All across the Atlantic!:-D
Paul wrote: "I'm always your fan, Jaimey. But if you really, really want, I'll be one on Facebook as well."Good grief, Paul! You are a fan/follower/friend on every social networking site we both use! You were one of my earliest fans on facebook. LOL :op (Thank you for being my fan.)
Thank you to everyone who has fanned my page. I appreciate it. ;o)

Woohoo Jaimey, I'm your 100th fan!:)
Hi Edain,if I may ask, how did you add that handy tab 'extended info?'
Thanks!:)
PS became a fan of your page too:)
Hi Sean,I just became your no 100 fan!:)
I love Face Book even though it drives me insane sometimes. I have an official fan page and a personal page where I can let rip (yes, I love those Doodle Cats! Send them to me!).
If you like, you can see my fan page at
http://www.facebook.com/wendygillissen?r...
Uh, I think that's the right url, anyway...
Hi Edain, I keep trying to go to your page by clicking the link but for some reason it is not taking me there :(
Hi there folks,I have a fan page on Facebook, which now has over 500 fans, even though my first novel is not out yet. Admittedly, I do have two published eBooks but still....
One thing I found handy is something called 'Extended Info' which is an application you can add to your page and put anything on it you like. You can create the sections, headers and info. It is great, I use mine to show my books and eBooks, as well as other things.
If you want to check out my page here is the addy: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=hom...
I also have a profile for every day stuff, the page is just for my writing.
Blessings to your Hearths,
Edain
OK, I re-activated my Facebook page...but, Facebook still gives me an "ice cream headache" grrrrr
Thanks for the info about setting up a fan page on Facebook Jaimey. Later today...if my Internet stays connected...I will try to set up a SOA fan page.
Not sure why, but Facebook makes me feel like I am an idiot :]
My fan page address is suppose to be http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jkmutabook... but the link doesn't seem to work, so I have no crew what is wrong, and that's what I'm trying to figure out. Who knows!
Good news I was able to get my fan page going so now I have two pages. And, I have fanned a few of you, hoping to fan more. Thanks for all the useful info. I'm still having problems with the link, hope to figure that soon.
I have more than one page. My business page or you can say fan page that is totally centered around my business. I have put a mailing list and an advertisement on that page.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Niagara-Fa...
This page links to my personal page that is in my name.

Why you ask? This gives me more room to advertise my services and give samples of what I do. You do not have to visit my website to fully understand what I do. It is all there.

Personal page that is
Thanks Jaimey, the sad part is I did delete my page because it wasn't allowing me to create a different one. Now I have to figure it all over. Will let you all know how it will go, if it will go anywhere.
Gina wrote: "Ditto on the darn... I have Hello Kitty slippers, and a spare pair for when these run out. Ok, three spares, but who's counting?"I have a Hello Kitty toaster that puts her face on the toast. My kids LOVE it. :o) Ok, I admit, I love it too. Even my husband thinks it's funny.
They say it's the thought that counts, right? Now you know I sent you the cutest hello kitty ever. I care. :o)
hehe
Ditto on the darn... I have Hello Kitty slippers, and a spare pair for when these run out. Ok, three spares, but who's counting?
J.K. wrote: "Is it possible to have both a fan page and a regular page? If it is, how is it done?"Totally possible. Gina and I both maintain a page and profile. Unless you deleted your original page, you still have your page even though you now have a profile.
Gina wrote: "He's just showed me how to block updates about Mafia Wars and that type of thing, so I can filter out all the annoying applications that everyone else loves but I can't stand."
Well darn, Gina. I sent you a Hello Kitty dressed like a mouse. Bummer. I thought you'd think she was cute. :o) Oh well. *shrug*
(I LOVE Hello Kitty.)
Gina,
How sweet of your husband. My teens taught me how to do myspace and to block all those mafia updates, as well. They won't touch facebook, at all. They tell me it is very user unfriendly.
It took my husband sitting me down and teaching me how to do everything for me to get Facebook. And it's even more complicated now than it was when I joined. He's just showed me how to block updates about Mafia Wars and that type of thing, so I can filter out all the annoying applications that everyone else loves but I can't stand.
I am addicted to Pet Society though... but that's different because those pets are real, LOL.
I started with a fan page, it was by accident I ended up on it, I thought I was getting a regular profile, until I realized I couldn't invite friends to my page, so now I have changed it to a regular profile. Will see if it will work the way I want it to work. For some reason Facebook has been too complicated for me.
Thank you, Sean! I appreciate the feedback and support. :o) You're welcome, Tamela! I have been putting that info everywhere I can because it took me almost two days just to find that stupid link. Facebook does NOT make things easy to find. Probably because they want you stumbling around the site for hours, clicking links willy-nilly, racking up the dough for them while wasting your precious writing time and STILL not finding what you started out looking for.
:o)
Jaimey,
I've been trying to get help setting up a fan site for months and you are the only person that has come forward. Thanks for all the information!
Tamela wrote: "I haven't any idea how to make a fan site..."Go here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
(I selected Artist, Band or Public Figure. In the drop down menu for that is writer.)
I actually find the fan page a little less congested than my profile. I can keep the fan page strictly "books" and have a little fun with my profile. And yes, facebook brings the whole world to a standstill sometimes, I think.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jaimey-Gra...
I think it has to do with purpose and audience. I write for a weekly publication that reports on the downtown, arts district, campus area of Columbus, Ohio. My facebook page gives access for the demographic we aim towards (mainly college students) to give me feedback, tip me off to events, ect ect.
And I thought it was just me that frowns on facebook! Does it slow down your computer, too? My thoughts, it needs to be stream-lined and simpler to understand. I haven't any idea how to make a fan site, have asked half a dozen people on the system, have read too many comments about downloaded viruses from the program, and get too many "junk" commentaries about joining Mafias, war games, li'l green patches, what's your color, etc.
Facebook fan pages totally annoy me. They are kinda like regular pages but not quite. I can get my regular blog to feed to my FB profile but my Goodreads blog won't feed to the fan page, etc. But if it helps to see what someone else is trying to do, here I am:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Susan-Barr...
(And I'm not sure what advantage having one's own name is. But I have mustered up a few fans and can write a little monthly update.)
Gina, I just added you :)KGC, let me know when you get your page up and I'll add you too!
Thanks everyone for the support! :)
I'm up for a fan exchange, Sean :o)I have fanned you.

I have a way to go to 100!

Hi Sean, I just added myself as a fan. Would you be so kind as to tell me how one gets a Facebook fan page? Truly would appreciate it!

Hey everyone! So, I need some feedback --- some help --- and some stories!I'm sure you're all familiar with facebook fan pages. I have one and have only had a steady fan following on it of around 40 people, all of which found me on their own and added me.
I use the page mostly to share my journalism, but also have albums of theatre productions, plug my book... the usual writer thing.
Recently though I learned that you can get a username for your fan page to make it a shorter address. This is very appealing to me and went to claim mine to learn that I'm required to have 100 fans to even be eligible!
So... I'm sad.
I was wondering if anyone else has tried to claim their username yet, if you were successful, and how you recommend me raising those numbers without appearing as if I'm shoving my page down peoples throats.
Finally, if anyone has a page I'd be more than happy to trade fan clicks. Do I sound desperate right now? lol. Any comments or feedback would be awesome guys.
FYI: My page is: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sean-Vince...
Can you see why I want the shorter URL?
