Just wanted to report that I'm having some problems with my shelves. I've culled a few books from my "to-read" list, and when I'm actually in that list, the correct number of books displays. But as soon as I click on another shelf, the number goes back up to the pre-cull amount. Is this the same issue?

As far as I can see, besides one minor problem of a rating not showing, it's fixed on my page. I'll keep an eye on it though.

We have found the issue with counts getting off, we will be releasing in a few minutes to remedy the error, but the data rebuild may take a few hours.

This doesn't really bother me but it does have to do with an "off count" in a way.

This one I've noticed for a while but the numbers seem to be much more far off than they've ever been.

I just added a book to my to-read shelf.

It says: move to top of my to-read shelf (currently 3282nd)

but I now have only 3,162 books on my to-read shelf, which is 120 fewer books than 3,282.

I'm wondering if the books moved from to-read to currently reading or read never get taken off the to-read shelf as far as this stat is concerned.

As I said, unlike the other issue (thank you again so much for fixing that!) it doesn't particularly bother me, but I'm wondering if it's something that would be easy to correct/fix. If not, I don't mind if it stays as it is, but I can speak only for myself. I don't know if this is or is not happening with other members.

Yes. I'm seeing one issue.

I've read 2,167 book and written 727 reviews. These numbers are reflected on my shelves: Goodreads' default read shelf and my own personal reviewed shelf. But, in the numbers that show right under my avatar, it shows only 2,166 ratings and 726 reviews. I've checked my shelves and I think my numbers are correct. So, under my avatar it's showing 1 too few of each.

Thanks if you can check that out. The discrepancy wasn't there until yesterday. I did read/rate and review 1 book yesterday so I assume that's the one that isn't being counted right below my avatar. The discrepancy is still there.

The new cache should be properly expired and should not cause any visible lag for stuff getting updated, currently its not, we're missing some data and will be fixing this in a few minutes.

It's a mapping of user_id to work_ids.

Also, I haven't checked friends' bookshelves but on my home page books that my friends have on their shelves show me the add to my book button even when I know they're on my shelves. So, this problem is persisting. I suspect if I went directly to their shelves I'd get the add to my shelves vs. edit my shelves link. When I click on the book directly it does show my rating/that I have it on my shelves, so I know the editions (if they're even different) are combined.

Because the book I finished (read) and rated and reviewed still doesn't show in the GR official ratings/reviews tallies.

Some of the books not showing up as read might be the result of a new cache that just went in... If you add/remove any books after this morning it should be fixed.

There seems to be some overall weirdness going on with the site (besides what I and others mentioned above) since the recent upgrade.

My 'currently reading' exclusive shelf count keeps going from '0' to '2' as if it isn't reflecting the changes from the two books being moved from it to the 'read' exclusive shelf.

I've also noticed the issue/bug that Brooke and Lisa described above since the recent site upgrade.

Several (most) of the books that have been added to my shelves and/or that have been rated/reviewed aren’t reflecting those updates when the book is pulled up on the site’s main search feature/menu. It gives the 'Add to my books' button as if it's not already been added. Only when I click on it to view the book feature page does it show that it's already in my shelves.

Not having the books that have been added and/or ratings/reviews in my personal list in sync/updated with the overall site is extremely frustrating.

I also noted problems as Brooke and Lisa described above.

Brooke, Well, check your rated & reviewed numbers and the next time you rate or rate & review a book see if that is reflected in the numbers Goodreads has.

I'm still having the problem of the add to my books add to my shelves when I have the book already read and rated, and that's with all of my books.

Re the numbers not changing, I don't know if that's the same problem or whether some overly zealous librarian removed a book from the database that I had on my shelves, or if some other issue is going on. (Edit: don't think one of my books that was rated & reviewed was removed from the database because my shelves show the correct number of read & reviewed; it's just Goodreads records right below my avatar that don't show yesterday's read, rated, reviewed book.)

Oh, I just noticed this yesterday. I did a search for Alan Moore and noticed that in the search results, Batman: The Killing Joke was still showing the 'Add to my books' button instead of showing that it was on my shelves. I double-checked to make sure that I DID have it on my shelves, since I just added it this weekend, and it does show up on my "read" and my "graphic-novels" shelves. I then checked to see if it was a needs-to-be-combined issue, but it was not that, either.

When I click on the Killing Joke link to take me to the book's page, it does show my review information, it is just the 'Add to my books' not changing that seems wonky.

I don't have enough information to tell you if my # rated did not change like Lisa's didn't.

I just read and rated and reviewed a book, and my read and (own personal shelf) reviewed show the addition on my profile page, but the part of my profile page that lists # rated and # reviewed books did not change. There never used to be a caching issue with rating/reviewing a book but I thought maybe there was a caching issue now.

But, another problem: I notice on my profile page (I can't see re my home page if this is true there) that the box add to my books is there for books I have rated/reviewed.

Edit: If you want a screen shot I can send one showing my rated book with the corresponding add to my books box.

Edit again: The add to my books box is there for more books than the one I just rated. It's there for at least both rated books still appearing on my profile page.

Additional information: When I go to a friend's shelves and see a book on mine, it says add to shelves (not edit shelves) for me, but if I click on the book, my rating does show.

Both these problems are weird, and I'm particularly distressed about my ratings/reviews not being in sync/updated.

Sorry for this serial post BUT this goes for books on my home page too. A friend just added the book I just rated/reviewed today and on my home page I also get the add to my books button vs. my star rating. Thanks.
